Ep 17 A Family Emergency

The shorthand version of my story is in the confusion of the 60’s, I left the seminary, and then in the chaos of the 70’s, I left the Church. But thirty years later, I found myself back on the road to the Church of my birth, and through the grace of God and the generosity of Pope Benedict XVI, I was received into the Church along with my wife, children and small Anglican parish, Christ the King Church in Towson, MD, which I founded in 1996, and which I continued to pastor as a Catholic priest until my retirement in July 2023. It is from this perspective that I present my podcast “You Can Go Home Again”.

It warms my heart when I see young families at Mass, though it bothers me there are so few. At every Mass I make sure to pray for God and all the Guardian Angels to keep them safe and protect them from all the snares of Satan and his agents, who have them squarely in their crosshairs at this time.

Why isn't this important message being reinforced from the pulpit at our Sunday masses ? I realize that being able to preach God's word effectively is a gift but somehow the Church must find a way to impress upon our priests that we NEED more sermons like this spoken at our Sundays. Amen and AMEN !!! Thank you. Father Meeks. I'm trying every day to limit my viewing of only Christian broadcasting. No social media. In it's place, praying a Rosary and/or Chaplet of Mercy, reading the Holy Scriptures and other Catholic books on faith formation and the History of the Catholic Church. The options are endless and help to eliminate needless worry by centering my thoughts on what is most important - God and his mission for my life. God bless you Father.
