So I just bought a C5 vet and they had the headlights replaced with the aftermarket ones. I bought a pretty well used set for a steal ($180 for both) and I only need to replace the motors, one of the light Caps and a few screws. This is the BEST video showing me how the bracket is supposed to mount and connect to the car itself with the 3 main bolts. Thank you!

Way to go Swamp Boys!! I've dealt with a couple of problems on the C5's headlights. The gear issue is notorious so I'm glad y'all did this video! I did the epoxy method on mine years ago when I changed to the brass gear. The OTHER problem I had on mine was that the stock headlights are what I lovingly call "55mph headlights." That means you have to drive 55mph at night in order to see anything! lol! I got some brighter bulbs and even tried a plug & play HID kit, but it was cheap and the ballast kept blowing. No good having a lifetime warranty on ballasts when you've gotta exchange it every 5-6 weeks! lol! Love the fact that y'all are steady making progress on the C5. Glad y'all are on the rebound from COVID. Continued health, success, and blessings to you Boys and your family!

Digging the step-by-step process! That motor for your headlights looks nearly identical to the transfer case motor on our first BMW X3 we drug home from Copart!

I had that popup issue on a 97 trans am. It was not as easy accessing that motor. Much better design on that vette. Good to hear you all are recovering from having covid.

Hi Fellas. Im working on both of my headlight motors and rebuilds. I had the pry apart kind. Did one backwards so I had two right motors.....had to pry it apart again flip the sprocket around. now clamped and glued again. We'll see tomorrow!

@@SwampBoysGarage The cap for the headlight motor popped off. With help from Lyle at C&S Corvette, I am now able to manually raise the light by pressing in on the headlight gear shaft while turning the manual-raise knob.

Do you like the spear trim piece extending back from the cove on the side? I think I would remove that. Would you remove it before or after paint?

That’s the million dollar question. I have lots of friends that took the vaccine and are sick now. The vaccine doesn’t seem to be working well against the Delta variant. I think my natural antibodies now are better against all future variants than the current vaccine. But who really knows.
