I am glad I ran into this video as my son and I are actually working on the same project, switching out the lights, the instrument panel (back) since its old and brittle and it's disintegrating slowly and also switching out the printed circuit board, so basically the same exact project. Thank you for the video as it was extremely helpful. I

Oh we aren't quitters. Just have a lot going on! This project will be seen to completion. Just not sure exactly how far that will take us. I have so many other things I'm working on at the same time.

Just got a 1979 Ford F-150 custom 4x4 with a 351m engine. This series helps immensely. It was my dads old truck and now is our project. My truck needs a lot more body work than yours, surface rust everywhere. Love the series thanks for putting out good informative content!

Surface rust can be dealt with if you get on it quick enough. Fun project trucks though. I also picked up a 66 F250 that I’ll be starting on soon.

Just got home from work and watched the video! Excellent work, and I am excited to see some more progress in the near future! I noticed when you put the key on, you didn't get the seatbelt light, that's because you either have the little white box on the side that makes the buzzer noise unhooked, or unhooked under the seat, or its broken! Which does happen. You can find them on eBay quite easily... I want to replace mine just so its accurate to when the truck as built! :) hehe

The light came on but no buzzing. Which doesn’t bother me at all. We’ll see what happens when it’s all put back together. We are still in tear apart mode right now. 🤦🏼‍♂️😜

LMC Truck is where I found to be the cheapest. Go to www.lmctruck.com Drill down to your make model and year. Much easier to do on a computer instead of a mobile device too.

how much did you pay for the cluster and where did you get it if i can ask
@troysgarage
@troysgarage 6 ай бұрын
I don’t remember the price and honestly this was years ago. Inflation would make what I paid seem cheap unfortunately. Got all these parts from LMC Truck online. They do have a catalog they will send you for your model year truck. Pretty cool resource and decent pricing. Shipping gets expensive so buy all the parts you need in a single order to save the shipping costs.

Glad to see Tavish take a chill pill and look serious as a lot of money has been spent to see it through. Just twisting and turning stuff netted a broken gauge. I was not as forgiving as he "be bopped" like a ten year old. I see some I am home and over that just got home jitters. I raised nine children and all of you know what its like to want to do that bonding and only one person is taking stuff serious. There is nothing wrong with being young but to just act without though is real rude. Had I not seen the change, I would of unsubscribed and just left it at that so consider being scolded but nicely even if it sounds gruff as there is more to be learned from this. No one should have to take life too serious but there is a time and place for everything... meaning that if you wish to be treated as a adult, then act like one. I for one am absolutely pleased to have you home with family that loves you dearly. This truck is about that bond. If you break everything learning, its okay and not the end of the world. If you break everything because you ran over lifes decisions then that is awful. You see the truck is your new congregation and it means a lot how they perceive you meaning that you never get a chance to make a good first impression again... lifes rules. I want you to make a difference in the people who come to you for the fuel for the sole. I know that we are all young but if you watch any very old movies with Spencer Tracy or Bing Crosby and there roles as young ministers... I did learn from them as I was a orphan at eight years of age and no one, no one to turn to or tuck me in. I would of spent my life in a prison some where if not that message at that time. Hence why I try to drive this message loud and clear, people get hurt very easy as their personal feelings are on their shirtsleeves. You get a like from me and welcome home

I will make sure Tavish sees this comment. I can tell you are passionate. Tavish has grown up a lot. He leaves again in July to complete his 2 years of missionary service. He will continue to change during that time as well. Thanks for the kind words and for watching! It means a lot! 🙌🏼

I like seeing Tavish start to take more ownership/initiative in the project. Things break on old trucks pretty easily sometimes, that's how ya learn lol. You'd think the paint would stay in place for a wipe down when they're charging over 60 bucks a pop though!!
