Dear Shelby. Please do not be distracted by people that lack the creativity that you have in abundance. Go your own path, in your own pace and look forward up your own future. You have a unique talent and I am sure will develop in surprising ways. You seem to be levelheaded enough not to let things get you down. I love your vlogs and look forward what will develop in 2024. Enjoy the holydays and best wishes for the coming year.

I'm not a potter. I found your channel from your shorts. I'm so sorry you've been copied. I'm grateful for you Mystery Mold series. It may sound odd, but I really enjoy learning about the different crafts. Also, you're not just making content, you're giving us your thoughts on creating. THAT is what's kept me here and what has shown your true artistry.

It sounds like a lot of commenters feel exactly as I do: we watch your videos because we think you are incredibly talented and we love your personality and the spin you put on your videos. I haven't seen any of these other mystery mold creators but I can't imagine they would be half as charming and soothing and interesting as you are. Keep up the good work and know that we will continue to watch you and support you. 💜

First of all, love your content and work! :) More generally speaking, I find that the content I actually want to watch is the content the creator actively WANTS to make and takes pleasure from. There are so many (to borrow your very kind term) inspired people who hop on certain format trends, but you can always tell where the genuine excitement and artistry is. You have both in spades and that's something nobody can copy. Looking forward to seeing what you'll share with us in the new year!

I want you to know that no matter who copies your channel they aren’t you. You are a bright light. I used to design, sell and teach my things. It drove me crazy when my original ideas were copied. My son discovered one of my things on the front page of a craft magazine. A friend, who had been selling crafts for quite a while, told me that it was the unfortunate side of crafts. I didn’t try copywriting. When I was doing all of this, there was no way to know who was using my idea somewhere else. My friend convinced me that being copied was sort of a compliment. I didn’t like it but that’s the way it was. I would be bored to death, to just see, what is in the mold. Watching you paint your own designs and to see the end product is my favorite part. Can’t wait to see next year’s projects. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Keep doing what you do.

I'm glad to hear you speak about your feelings of the new content creators who have picked up the Mystery Molds "idea". I also run a small, home-based business in a crafting industry and have had a very successful 6 years. During that time there have been several "copycats" who have tried to recreate my business. I don't mind that there is competition. But I do mind when they try to say negative things about my business to boast that their business is somehow "better". Like politicians running ads to say negative things about their opponents. It's just dirty and unnecessary. I mind my own and don't engage with the negativity. You are doing the right thing by simply focusing on YOU and your art, pushing all the other stuff out of mind. Your passion for your work and your business is what sets you apart from the rest. I have no doubt you (and I) will have great continued success. What other people do is simply unimportant. With love from Seattle, WA, USA. I really enjoy your work, both the art and the videos.

Shelby, You are an absolute JOY to watch. I think regarding the mystery molds- your self reflection is what sets you apart from the copy cats. It's one thing to copy but to not acknowledge the inspiration point is a sour note on THEM. YOU however will benefit from the growth of your reflection. Whatever content creation is or isn't- the grind, the logarithm etc- YOU are moving forward as an artist regardless of what you share with us. I know you don't need some old lady to tell you that. But it's true. I admire you so much for that. Here's to 2024!!! I can't wait to see what you share with us. 💞💕

Mystery moulds: creation. I'd love to see the process of creating a mould, from idea to sculpting to workshopping and everything in between before finally creating the mould and revealing the final mould and final product, and even the painting and designing the final products. Not to discredit your creativity in video ideas, but I think a lot of us are here for you and your personality, which is such a happy bubble of joy and shines through all your designs. There is so clearly so much of you in every piece and that is something no one can replicate. All the best for the new year, and I look forward to experiencing whatever it is you decide to create!

I have found another youtuber who does mystery molds but she clearly states you have been her influence. She is also new to it all and not so proficient yet. We always say, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." And that is true, but I understand increased competition, and people who feel the need to divide rather than multiply are stressors. Your work is unique and well done. That is what makes it so loved. Those new mugs are so "happy"!!! They won't last long. Love both styles, the 3d and the painted only ones. Who wouldn't love to have a set of those? You may not be a believer in God, but regardless, if you quiet your heart and mind and ask for inspiration, it will come because God is love and He gave you this gift to share with us all. Merry Christmas. Can't wait to see what the new year brings from you!

Oh my gosh they’re gorgeous. The strawberry and bee mugs may be my favourites. I hope whatever path you follow it brings you so much joy. There may be copiers but none will have your beautiful personality , this is truly what makes your content so enjoyable. Merry Christmas and all the best

I love how all of those mugs turned out! I always love all of the different flowers you use and those strawberry ones are especially cute! I’m excited to see the changes this year and really interested in seeing your own mold designs! As someone who’s followed you for most the last 3 years, it just seems like the right time to change up the mystery mold challenge. I’ve always enjoyed the art you create with them more than the mystery itself anyways. ❤

The veggie mugs and the bee made me so happy. I love your content. You’re the only ceramicist who I follow who does molds. The rest are wheel throwing. Take this time to rest. Merry Christmas

I've been loving how the mystery mould videos have evolved; it's very exciting to know they'll continue this way going forward! I follow quite a few different potters, sculptors and mould-makers on YT and IG, and in the last few months there's been a huge spike in the number of different creators I've been recommended by the algorithm who do their own mystery mould videos. I'm always happy to find new artists & creators, and was happy to see other folks getting in on the fun of what you're doing! Only to see, every time, that they made no reference to you or your series. Knowing the amount of care you take in giving credit to other artists and where your inspirations for things come from, it was so, so disheartening. As artists we know that (as you alluded to in talking about mushrooms) anything popular is bound to catch on and become a trend -- and for that reason, it can be difficult to address situations where other people are mimicking something you've created or popularised, even when it leads to negative impacts on your business. Thank-you for acknowledging and addressing it, even while continuing to grow and adapt beyond it. Blessed Yuletide, merry Christmas, and a happy New Year to you, your team & your families. ♡

The little mugs remind me of a child's tea set ❤️ Oh, and your content is fun, yet mature, insightful, and inspiring. You are a teacher. Light years ahead and above "quick draw" content.

Hi Shelby, I'm so glad to have found your channel. You are an absolute inspirations to me. I'm a nearly 60 year old crochet crafter and just starting to get my head around social media and technology in general. I'm very new to it all and have only posted very small amounts of fairly amateur content. Seeing how dedicated you are and your awesome work ethic is so motivating to me. My doubts about my abilities on all fronts are my greatest challenge. You have such a confident persona and you are so easy to watch. I live in a small town in Queensland so I'm not sure if I will ever get to see your work in person, who knows though I'm hopeful that 2024 will bring some exciting and new beautiful experiences. Keep up the wonderful work you do. Kay from Happy_Heart_Crochet

Your thoughtfulness always impresses me. You are an insightful person and a good content maker and artist. Really like the blue pear, it is kind of 50's retro, which I love. Suggestion: Paint along with me video. Just one. We could use any object and paint a design of your choosing along with you. Or you could sell a little kit with a bisque fired piece with a set of paint pots and brush, so everyone can paint the same thing. Just some thoughts. Don't know if it would work. People could post their projects on some platform with a # tag so you could find them. Anyways, Merry Christmas and I wish you well for the New Year. I look forward to where your art and channel goes.
