You mentioned recreating your original island and that is exactly what I did. Early this year I started looking through my screenshots, and early island photos were showing up in my memories. I got so nostalgic for my early island. I was getting bored with the game, so I decided to “restore” my island using old screenshots of the map. I got back that feeling I had when I first started and I fell in love with my island again. It’s very natural and there are areas that are a little developed but all the land is how it was when I started with lots of natural forest areas. I highly recommend it, it was a lot of fun!

I totally 100% think it was a mistake. Humans are fallible, even at Nintendo. They didn’t mention them in the July blogs is the first clue. An even bigger one is that the Halloween event isn’t even in the game yet. There’s no reason to give us the items if the event can’t even officially start on Oct. 1st. When Nintendo drops the late September update to add Halloween, I doubt there will be any new Halloween items outside of what we got but they’ll finally mention the items in the blogs as if they’re new. Somebody accidentally forgot to uncheck the item boxes and whoops, they got left in.
