You guys popped up on my KZbin this morning, I'm playing catch up and I'm excited to follow your journey. I have to say I'm a little jealous as hubby and I were hoping to be out in France by now, creating art and living the French dream, but alas we have to wait a little longer, but in the mean time I get to live my dream through you two. Never tried oysters before but it's on my bucket list, not sure I could eat a raw one but will definitely try Ashley's recipes. Johnny your gallery is to die for.

Perhaps they taste better when you shuck them yourself! Imagine if you found a Pearl in one! You definitely have to turn it into a piece of jewellery for Ashley

I’ve been unable to eat oysters since getting totally ill on Oysters Rockefeller in Puerto Vallarta years ago. .Before the pandemic I went to Newport from NYC, where we live, with my daughter and then one baby granddaughter and stopped at a. lobster shack in Connecticut. It was fantastic. Looks like your chateau is in a great location. I haven’t eaten inside a restaurant here in a year. Since the pandemic I have seen some Lobster Roll food carts out and about in the city. It’s going to take some time to get things back to any kind of status quo here. My daughter/husband and toddlers left for their ski house in Stratton, Vt a year ago and haven’t looked back except for an occasional dinner at his firm located in the Graybar Bldg at Grand Central. They have an old farm house and are starting to appreciate a much more rural life. The head of his firm has everyone working remotely come in for dinners every few months. I think they will all be required to return soon. You haven’t missed much in the city - your French life looks idyllic. Your second video had much better sound than the first - I think you have made a great start for your vlog. Congratulations.

Just found your channel guys and subscribed. Alway's loved your beautiful home from ETTCDIY. Enjoyed the baked and fried Oysters ( by osmosis!). Sadly I'm allergic to raw ones, but will give the cooked ones a try when we're allowed back into France. Greetings from the south coast of England.

I grew up in Paris, my grandfather had a small restaurant and my grandmother had an oyster stand in front. This is how they served the raw oysters on the shell.... they were opened, cut from the muscle, rinsed to discard any shell fragments, placed on a bed of crushed ice. then served with lemon pieces, bread and of course white wine......oh and they always stayed with #3's or smaller, for their milder flavor.

The oysters looked glorious! I am a New Yorker and lived in San Francisco for 12 years and have sampled oysters on both coasts, but the oysters in France take the cake! I have spent a lot of time in France and when it is possible I am coming over just for the wine and brocante prices! Love your property and sheep! 🌸

What memories you brought back re the Oysters. First visiting Arachon, where you can be taken by a small boat out the the Oyster beds and tasting them fresh with a glass of Chablis. You must go there when safe and then I had baked Oyster cooked the same way but this time in Idaho far from the sea but fabulous. So thank you for memories a long time ago. So pleased you have managed to get through the tough times we saw on RTCDIY. Many of the other contributors have gone to make successful vlogs with loyal followers and all of you are so different and interesting but it feels like a large family with the same people all over the world 🌎 following what you are all doing.Good luck.

But was visiting our daughter in Spain and was invited for lunch at her Mother in laws, where we sat down to the biggest dish of mussels in paprika and tomatoes with a crumble herb topping. I was smiling but dying inside. Not to be rude I took a couple and OMG they were amazing and I eat 12. 😂 happy days xxx
