I’m so happy that you included President Kimball’s quote about Peter possibly denying Christ so that he could go on to lead the Church. I knew that I had heard it before, but hadn’t been able to find it. I love your lesson brothers!

Thank you for your clarity. I’ve felt the imprinting of His Spirit on certain people’s countenances & in certain places. I had not connected this to oneness with the Father & the Son. Also, true friendship is precious & a real treasure that will go into eternity (same sociality…). Yes, I will get a roo-ster! 🐓Grateful for your dedication to our God.

Loved your commentary. Just a note on the verse regarding Christ when he says his disciples will be “offended” - this can also mean, to desert, stumble, leave, scatter (See Strong’s Concordance #4624). This is what happens after they take Christ - the apostles deserted him as was shown in Matt 26:56 - “Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled”. This was also prophesied in Zechariah 13:7.

This is hands down my favorite podcast. You both have taught me so much about so many things. Something that has troubled me over the years when discussing Peter “the rock”, is those who claim to know and love him can judge him so harshly, harsher than He who has claim to judge him the harshest. Pres Kimble refused to do it. The rooster analogy is very harsh and off base in my view. Peter was not only protective but in many cases, recklessly devoted and protective of the savior. In the garden, in front of a mob of officials who could have not only imprisoned him for his actions but even killed him on the spot, he protected Him, but then when in front of servants and townsfolk some believe he turned into a coward. To be frank, I don’t buy it. We know and have learned to much about him in the temple for this to be a reality. I know there is some debate over the translation into what we have in English as thou shalt. Thou shalt, in every other part of the scriptures, is a commandment, not a prediction. No one knew Peter better than the savior and the savior had chosen him to carry the church forward. He needed Peter to survive satin’s onslaught and I believe he commanded him, because he knew Peter would otherwise potentially put, not only his own life, but the future of the church at risk, out of his devotion to the savior. I have grown to love you both through your amazing podcasts. I Love Peter, my brother & I hope one day he considers me his brother.

Thanks Jeremy. I think we discussed some of the ways of reading that passage you referenced. Thanks for the kind words and for listening to the podcast!

@@talkingscripture As you both are so good at doing, you did present multiple points of view. Sorry if my comments themselves came across as harsh. You both go so well together & do such a fine job teaching both the intellectual and spiritual side of things. The analogy of the 3 ways the HG can influence our lives from Elder McConkie was explained so well, in another podcast! My entire family and many friends have started listening to you guys. I often get behind in come follow me because I listen to your podcast numerous times and dive into your notes😆. Thank you again for what you both do.

I've been listening to this podcast for years, but I've never understood the "Show Notes". I wanted to learn more about the certain young man who followed Jesus but ran away naked. I clicked on the "Show Notes" link as instructed, but it didn't tell me anything about it, only what the time stamp was. I just went around and around in circles and never found anything. This has been going on for years every time I wish to learn something more in-depth and am instructed that it is in the "Show Notes". There just doesn't appear to be anything there. Ever. I've asked this question before and I'll ask it once more-- Where am I going wrong?
