Ep 22 - Tent camping with our dogs in the Victorian High Country | freezing | river | campfire | hut

In this episode, we head back to the high country with our 2 dogs and spend 2 nights camping on the banks of a very swollen creek.
The temperature dropped to below zero both nights, but we still have an epic trip and can't wait to get back up there in a couple of weeks! I hope you enjoy our adventure as much as we did :)

Wo, that was chilly, indeed! Cold weather sure makes camping more of a challenge. Warmer weather is in your near future. That homemade chair was amazing! Neat to see how you insulate the dogs from the ground. I do something similar. So wonderful that you can let your dogs off leash. Great video, very entertaining from beginning to end, and the scenery was unparalleled. Victoria has it all-- mountains, rivers, ocean. Incredible! The nights were cold but the days were beautiful; we were blessed with sunshine and no wind! :) Yes, the dogs are getting on in years, so I worry but them getting cold. I shouldn’t have worried though; Xena found a spot at the back of the tent with no blankets or foil mat and slept there for most of the night 🙄😂 I hope you’re well; have a great weekend :)

funny, I didn't find the audio on this at all poor at any point from memory and I watched it right through-maybe we're both a little too critical on ourselves 😛 I have not done much other than to try and not move too much and get closer to the mic. I use the rode micro, so nothing flash and sometimes the phone itself. I do bump the volume up in post production and put a limiter on it at -6dB. That kind of evens it out, but I am still pretty useless at it 🙂 If I see an good videos I'll let you know ✌🏻@@youmeandtheGSDs

We’re about to release our video of our travels to that area. Loved Tomahawk Hut. However, Evans Hut had an unsettling feel about it. Can’t pinpoint it just gave off a “feel”. The creek wasn’t running nearly as fast as that when we were there either. Nice vid. Thanks for sharing.

@@odnuas yes true! We had the exhaust and intercooler upgraded and ems remapped (I think that’s what it’s called) made a huge difference.

Thanks so much for watching :) The tent is an Oztent RV5. It’s a great tent and super quick to put up, the only downside is that it’s quite long packed up, so needs to travel on the roof
