Dude! Your hinged cuff is freaking amazing! I LOVE the slide part the most! It's so unique and something I've never seen before. I just happened across your KZbin video on a Facebook group. Props!

I learned a trick from Erin Harris to put graphite meant for mechanical pencils inside the tubes while soldering. This helps prevent the tubes from collapsing on themselves, and it give you something to use to manipulate the tube while soldering.

I learned that as well. I have never used the technique. I do use graphite to keep solder from flowing where i dont want it tho!

Thanks for your videos :) I have a question- I noticed you are using an orca torch. Does the propane tank k have to stay upright or can it rest on its side? The propane tank is so little ut keeps falling over when I use the torch. Any advice would be great. Thanks for sharing your techniques and knowledge :)

I've made one hinge so far but, didn't use either of your methods. I like your way and I'm going to give it a go! Thanks! ❤

I like your way. It would be great for many applications. I need to make more poison talismans/rings/ etc. to see if I can use your method. Ohhh and by the way, as far as little drops, my buddy Mario over at SJ Jewelry supply has applicator bottles that you can put flux in and they have super skinny tips for hard to reach places and they are perfect for applying the tiniest amount of flux. I'll snap a picture of my bottle for you. 😊

have you played around with using mechanical graphite leads when soldering your hinges? they can support the tubing while soldering and the graphite doesnt stick to the solder

I have not used graphite for hinges... another person suggested that as well. Im going to start using it as regular practice! I normally use graphite to color in my stamping so solder doesnt flow into the stamped recesses. I haven't made a hinge in a while. I have an idea that requires a hinge as the focal part of the piece... we will see!

I usually put the pin through then I cut them flush and I use a tiny amount of solder on each end and solder them obviously not too much solder or it will go through and it won't work anyways that is what I do
