It cannot be marked 925 if you use a copper filler ring. For it to be hallmarked 925 all metals must be sterling.

Can I ask why you didn’t attach the ends while the bar was flat and then curve it? Is there a reason not to do it that way? I find the easiest way to make round links oval is stretching them with round nose pliers or two small round punches.
@boomjewelrydesigns16 күн бұрын
@JustME-ft4di thanks for your comment! I bent before adding the ends because of the thickness of the bracelet, I would likely smash the small part in the process of Bending. I don't have link stretchers, (on order tho!). Double round pliers wouldn't bend the links properly. I did try. Not the right tool for that, for me. Share if you know a better way! Thanks again.

It’s fabulous! So organic. I absolutely love how it looks before you repair it etc. It looks like a piece of dug up ancient treasure. I love the colours in it. I bet you could recreate that with some subtle Keum Boo or gold dust and patina on the blobs etc. Imagine stetting a few stones in as well. So inspired. Thank you! I don’t think we could use forks etc in the UK if the piece is over 7.8g because it may not be hallmarking quality Sterling. I wonder if there is a way to check it?
@JustME-ft4diАй бұрын
Thanks Benny! I find good polishing one of the hardest bits so this was really useful. Luckily I prefer matte or brushed finishes but am trying to learn the best way to get a bright clean polish for some pieces.
@JustME-ft4diАй бұрын
Love it! Maybe easier just to start with solid sheet and add some other bits to it like the fused elements but leave an edge that will be flared? Or add rails to the finished ring to stop the spinners coming off?
@JustME-ft4diАй бұрын
Love those!

@@boomjewelrydesigns well so far it's keeping the links round. I'm doing it in 14g and wrapping it around 1/8" dowel for links size. Kinda small for my caveman fingers. Gonna take alot of patience. I'm guessing this will be a picnic compared to soldering all them though lol
