I think having a close big brother is such a flex for Hailey...she doesn't realize it yet but she does lol. I sometimes realize my 14 year old daughter talks to boys because she wants that big brother protection aspect but they always end up wanting to date her and shes not looking for that. I just love all these kids.❤

Hailey doesn’t realize how many girls crave this relationship with their father or brother! I wonder if she has trauma from Affection! Cause Ariel seems so loving to her kids… maybe that’s just Hailey… but i pray she grows into accepting and receiving that love for both men/guys in here life. Hailey you are a gift, and deserve to be loved , because you’re so kind, and sweet, and an amazing person, from what we get to see. She doesn’t have daddy issues, but maybe a little hint of Philophobia… it will get better overtime… we adore you Hailey 💚💚💚

& another thing… we need so many more Andre’s in this world because, even though it’s not his cross to bear, there are so many kids in this world that commit suicide because they just feel so all alone the home life not really going well, and then they go to school, they feel isolated, by their appears, they’re walking in the hallways, looking down, seeing if someone will care, or they’re getting bullied, I grew up in a town where we watch the Degrassi the one with Drake was on, and the dude who was bullied, one day had a breaking point where he shot up the school, everyone handles it differently, but being isolated does not feel good for any of us, unless we need a break because we are social most of the time.. we adore you, Andre, I wish I had a mother like Ariel growing up…😭😭😭

I respect Hailey’s perspective on time/knowing a person as the foundation of “friendship”…there are certain eras in life that the label is used so loosely! That’s a great mindset to build on!

This is such an amazing conversation, I’m crying with you guys😭 I don’t have kids but I teach communication skills to kids in different age groups and I feel that young people are one of the most oppressed groups of people, because many parents/adults often don’t see kids as individuals, but as an extension of themselves. Based on Andre’s “It’s okay to be alone” and Hailey’s “I’m just sticking to myself” I can tell that you’ve guided your kids to be confident and secure within themselves because you allow them to have their own voice. It doesn’t seem Hailey lacks emotion, but maybe just hasn’t found her own way to express herself just yet! I hope she gets to explore that as she navigates highschool! This family dynamic is so refreshing to see❤️

She has a great understanding of the word friend. Most adult doesn’t have that grasp on the word. Good for Hailey. On the other hand she may need to have a private therapist to help with her father uneasiness. Has her dad been in the military all of her life? Does her dad understand her emotional trauma? She is a lucky girl to have a dad who loves her endlessly. Tell Dre she doesn’t like his hovering. She loves him for being there but she requires a little more space. Best of luck to all of you. 😂😂

i relate to Hailey when she said she felt like she was getting kidnapped when she had to go sleep at her dads house when she was young. I went through the same things when I was growing up but I am now 20 and my relationship with my dad has gotten somewhat better but i would say it took a long time to get to the place we are at now. after I graduated high school I blocked him and didn’t start talking to him again until this year it was hard for me to talk to him because of how absent he was in my like but it came to a point where I was like if he is will to try then i’m not going to not give him a chance.

I have a very similar story to your daughter's kidnapping story, I believe I was the same age as she was when she recalled her story as well. I'm now 30, with w/2 of my own sons and I still remember that moment. Lol Over time things get better, but it's amazing what we recall from our youth sometimes.

I feel like she knows her children and tries her best not to put words in their mouths, giving them the opportunity to express themselves but leads the conversation because of offscreen experiences she wants them to talk about on the podcast so she does a good job with transitions to topics she wants to bring up.
