I'm a bit behind on podcasts but it was so good to catch up with you both today. Congratulations Kaity on the pregnancy!! I hope you are feeling better and able to knit again soon. Being nauseous is so miserable. I hope it doesnt last long. I love both of your sweaters. Petite Knit patterns are such lovely classics. I have noticed a few of Anne Ventzel's designs recently. I am keen to knit something of hers soon. So glad you got your knitting back, Diana. That would have made my day. I'm glad you are enjoying my podcast. Thanks so much for mentioning it. Hope you are both keeping well and looking forward to seeing you soon. xx

It is so good to see you both. I'm sorry you were sick, but glad you are feeling better. And, how exciting for you, Kaity!! Congratulations! I have ID tags that I attach to my knitting bags in case they ever get lost. Diana, I'm glad you were able to find a "fix" for the red Malabrigo. That is frustrating to have the yarn bleed like that!! I LOVE All the Light We Cannot See. For a light-hearted series to listen to, I enjoyed M.C. Beaton's Agatha Raisin mystery series. Stay warm and well.

I was totally the same during my pregnancies, not wanting to knit. In fact, any time I felt like I lost my “knitting mojo”, I knew I better take a pregnancy test, and it always came out positive. I had four kids and it happened every time. Fortunately, my mojo came back pretty quickly, which is good because I needed to get knitting for the next baby!

Hi Ladies! So happy to see you! Congratulations, Kaity! I'm so very happy for you and your "growing" family! I wanted to comment that I started using jojoba oil for my dry cuticles and then I just rub the rest into my hands and it's really helped the dryness! Thanks for sharing your knitting with us and hope to see you soon!

Kaity! You poor girl! I get it. When I had my daughter many many years ago I sewed everything . I was making a dress to fit me through my pregnancy. I bought the fabric and I loved it. When I went to sew it after cutting it out I looked at it and was so nauseous . I had to end up getting rid of that cut out pattern . For years after when I thought of it I got nauseous! I never experienced morning sickness with my children but that darn fabric almost did me in. Crazy what those babies can do to our brains;) I did go back to sewing but I started to knit at that time. So it all ended well. Keep the faith. Glad y'all are feeling better. Diana, don't forget the color catchers with the sweater. It will save that blue in the sweater. My MT red still bleeds but still looks strong in color.

Congratulations, Kaity!! Praying for a healthy pregnancy! I started knitting after my fist baby, but yes, knitting during that first trimester for the subsequent 5 pregnancies was definitely a no-go for me. The repetitive motion made me so sick, and I was so tired that I just couldn't get my hands to knit. Usually, towards the end, I wanted to knit again! And then wanted to make EVERYTHING before the new little one made an appearance! 😊

Hello! I am due next month and I experienced the same thing as you at the start of my pregnancy. I just started getting back into knitting and crochet again at the end of the 2nd trimester. Slowing down now and catching back with you two and my jaw dropped when you said this that I had to leave a comment! I thought I was the only one and was so scared I'd never get back into it again too. So big congratulations! So exciting and I hope you are feeling well now Kaity! ❤

Well, congratulations Kaity!! So exciting ❤ and welcome back to the both of you - glad you’re all on the mend! And if y’all like Agatha Christie you may like a mystery series called “The Thursday Murder Club”. Set in an English Retirement Center, so well written and hysterically funny if you like British humor. The author is Richard Osman and there are four books so far. Hope you enjoy and hope you get your mojo back soon!!

Enjoyed seeing you again. Katie still looks a little pale and not her usual self, but congratulations! We all had sickness too around Christmas. I hope your 60th bd party is a healthy success! A series of very nice uplifting books I have enjoyed is the MItford Series by Jan Karon. It is about a single pastor who marries for the first time at 60 and the adventures that begin in his small southern town life as a result. Best to read the first one first when he is still single and how he meets his artsy neighbor who becomes his wife.

Congratulations Kaity!! That is so exciting. I'm sorry you haven't felt too well. I am actually just a couple weeks ahead of you expecting our second baby and while I didn't have nearly as much nausea this time, I definitely felt a big slump in my desire to knit anything. Pretty much as soon as I finished my Christmas knitting I didn't knit hardly a stitch for probably 3+ weeks. But I did lots of reading too! It was really exciting to hear you were reading Agatha Christie because she is one of my favorite authors. If you enjoyed that sort of classic murder mystery style, I'd recommend trying one of the Miss Silver books by Patricia Wentworth. They were written around the same time as many of Agatha Christie's books, but the detective is an older retired governess who is constantly knitting. It is so cute and fun to read about that as a knitter! It'll talk about her trying to find good wool with her rationing coupons, or knitting school socks for her niece's three boys, or coming up with a baby cardigan pattern. I have read and re-read all the books in that series several times since I discovered it a couple years ago. Happy early birthday Diana!! I love how your Anthology throw is turning out. Those colors all look so happy together!

Hi. New subscriber here. Your channel just came up in my feed so I watched this and really enjoyed it. Congratulations Kaity. I think the Monday sweater you made is beautiful. I love knitting sweaters. I live in Florida so I don’t get to wear them very often. I hope you take this as a compliment but you look a lot like Ashley Judd to me. I think she is so pretty. Anyway, I’m working on my first Ranunculus and having a blast knitting it. You asked for a good book recommendation. I’m reading “Not A Sound” by Heather Gudenkauf. I love her books. Also Shalini Bolland, Rachel Abbott and K. L. Slater. 🧶

Kaity, Congratulations on your little one on the way!!! Im catching up on watching your podcast! and Yes I completely understand knitting and pregnancy is a no go! with my first I didn't have this problem, but with my second it made me sick to even think about touching yarn. and now with my third I couldn't knit until a couple weeks ago maybe around week 17 or 18. I couldn't even imagine watching knitting podcasts, it just made me so nauseous.

When I was pregnant- I couldn’t knit my first trimester either! In fact I still have the yarn from that project I was working on (almost six years later) and every time I look at it I get nauseous. lol I should de stash it because I don’t know if I can ever knit it now. Also- I just got COVID for the first time and felt very tired and nauseous and lost my knitting mojo for about five days because of it too! Such a strange thing.

Hi Ladies! And congratulations Katie!! 🎉 You can buy a product (Sock Stop?) that looks like white glue and you just put dots of it on the bottom of socks so they don't slip on hardwood floors. As for knitting with colors that might bleed, make a swatch with the yarn and stripe in some white. Wash and block it and see what happens. Small boo-boos are always better than big ones. 😉❤xo

Congratulations Kaite. So happy for you. It’s good to see you both again. Diana, you asked about winter hands when knitting with wool. My favorite it to use Lanolin cream (just pure lanolin). I rub it on my hands like lotion and knit away. I’ve not had any stickiness or any other problems on my sweaters from that, but I do only use it on pure wool, no superwash or blended fibers. Kaite I hope your desire to knit returns soon. Happy knitting and reading to you both.

So good to catch up with you two! Congratulations Kaity!! So exciting. I wasn't a knitter until after my third child, so with the my fourth and fifth pregnancies I completely lost any desire to knit until the nausea faded which for me is like 25 wks. It is such a bummer and I miss it but even looking at yarn makes me nauseous when in those early weeks. Like you said, it'll come back. It's so worth it though! My fifth baby is almost 11 months now, I miss those newborn days terribly already.

Why not just contact who you bought the red from and just get replacement yarn? Trying to “set” the red is way too much work and you didn’t pay to do a job they should have done correctly. Reflects badly on the company.
