Keep the conversation alive. We have to free the plant and regulate it in Nepal. Few of us are learning, advocating and working in the industry outside Nepal too.

We need to legalize marijuana just to uplift our economy status.........Raksi ta khane le thorai khanxa kasai le morning dehki raat bholi parsi samma kahnxa ...... we cannot put regulation to people, they what they want to do.... but in boarder perceptive lots of industry will be open instantly when this becomes legalize , more jobs , more industry its good for country..... people are people they do what they want to do no rules or regulation has ever stopped people. Ethical concern is there but see it in long term

Marijuana should legalize for the industrial and recreational use in Nepal.

This podcast is extremely disappointing. The hosts' habit and speakers' habit of mixing half-English and half-Nepali doesn't make them appear wise or intellectual; rather, it indicates potential mental instability. It's not merely a lack of language proficiency but a concerning sign of cognitive inconsistency. Moreover, their discussion of Thailand's marijuana tourism and its economic impact is deeply flawed. The data they present seems to be derived from manipulated reports rather than credible academic research. Thailand's marijuana tourism isn't solely about marijuana; it primarily caters to sex and beach tourism, with marijuana consumption being a minor aspect, akin to alcohol or cigarettes. Therefore, the actual contribution of marijuana to Thailand's economy is minimal, likely between $2 million and $10 million. Therefore, I ask the speakers if they are ready to have large number of sex workers introduced in major tourist destinations in Nepal, such as Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan? Are they willing to expose their own family members to such exploitation? The hypothetical prediction that farmers would benefit significantly from marijuana cultivation is a biased conclusion. In reality, farmers are unlikely to benefit much, as the primary beneficiaries would likely be middlemen or larger players in the industry. It's essential to thoroughly study market realities and understand how market mechanisms operate before drawing such conclusions. Additionally, they fail to acknowledge the serious social issues arising in cities where marijuana consumption is permitted. Studies show a significant decline in youth interest in fulltime employment and social interactions, with marijuana often serving as a gateway to more harmful drugs for many addicts. Studies estimate that youth who consume marijuana are approximately 30% less interactive with their family members and about 60% less interactive with other members of society and friends. Have you considered this social aspect of marijuana? Drawing parallels with Thailand's failed experiment with sex tourism, the speakers' glorification of marijuana cultivation in Nepal's mountains is misleading. While mountain marijuana may have that exceptionally high medicinal value, it's unlikely to be as lucrative as claimed. Moreover, India would likely have already capitalized on mountain marijuana farming if it were as profitable as suggested. Absolutely, while the medicinal value of marijuana is undeniable and widely accepted, the proposition of legalizing it for public consumption openly is profoundly misguided. This is due to the myriad of personal and societal problems it tends to bring about. It's crucial to recognize that monetary gains shouldn't overshadow the irreparable damage to society and its values. Guys, it's essential not to chase after manipulated reports and prioritize money above all else. The economic contribution from public consumption of marijuana is not worth the significant societal costs it incurs. The speaker's argument that marijuana is a Shiva's Pradad and should be freely consumed is flawed. If they truly believe in following Shiva's teachings, they should emulate his ascetic lifestyle, which includes meditation in the Himalayas and renunciation of worldly comforts. There are countless reasons why marijuana should not be freely available to the public. Alcohol is legal to consume. But the legalization of alcohol doesn't negate the social problems it has brought about in the society. Have you ever observed the profound impact of alcohol on communities, prompting numerous mothers' groups to actively advocate for its prohibition? Contrary to popular belief, studies indicate that alcohol consumption doesn't typically lead to more severe drug addiction. In conclusion, legalizing hemp farming, which is different from marijuana and not a drug, could bring numerous benefits to Nepal, particularly in promoting the hemp textile industry. Hemp cultivation offers a sustainable alternative that can stimulate economic growth while minimizing environmental impact. By legalizing hemp farming, Nepal can tap into a lucrative market for hemp-based textiles, contributing to job creation and economic development. BUT BUT BUT BUT marijuana should only be permitted for medical research and medicinal use under strict government regulation and monitoring. Its cultivation should be strictly controlled for medicinal and research purposes. Therefore, the host and speakers should refrain from disseminating false claims and fraudulent statistics and instead focus on understanding the societal problems associated with marijuana in cities where its consumption is legal. Finally, instead of engaging in such misleading conversations, improve your mental stability and language skills. Either converse entirely in English or entirely in Nepali or entirely Hindi or Entirely Newari or whatever language you can speak well or whatever Mother tongue you have. Mixing half Nepali and half English doesn't make you appear cool or smart; it disrespects the language and also simply highlights the mental instability you guys have.

Marijuana might hav some benefits but it’s bad effects in society surpasses its positive side. Jst go to places where it’s legal. Youths are addicted to it. Cities fills with unpleasant smell everywhere and most importantly people not in their conscious state makes the society further worse.

You do you. All we care about is building economy and not just rely on remittances. Agriculture and hydropower is the only option for Nepal for export. You and me only consumers. Even if you earn money in Nepal, tero khane paisa sabai Khadi Muluk ma kaam garne daju bhai didi baini haru ko shram ko paisa khaira chau. Kahele samma ? Bad effect in society??? Our society is the biggest narcissistic society I’ve seen among all the places I’ve traveled. Especially people like you and me who have some generational wealth and have free time to post on social networks. What needs to change is our mindset. Haina bhane naya yuwa neta haru pani timiharu jastai kam na lagne hunchan. Addiction can be to various things. Palm oil, corn syrup and other imported fast foods are more addictive and causes more morbidity and suffering in the long run. Believe me. Marijuana legalization will not ruin our country, but our conservative mindset can.

I live in a fully legalized country for the last 5 yrs. Youth consumption including the teens are down, 60+ older people are using it more for their illness, women are using it. No one Smokes it anymore, either it is vaped, oil, edibles or capsules. The world has moved way ahead and people are still super arrogant. Learn, read and think so you wake up.
