Boat life in Miami was a lot of things. Busy, still, quiet, loud. It was fun, and a place we called home for much longer than expected. Katy and I knew that making this last push to get ready for the Bahamas was going to be tough. We also knew that doing it with company would make it easier.
Finally, we reunited with trio, our dear friends who we hadn't seen since Annapolis! It was such a breath of fresh air. After a few days of catching up and exploring part of South Miami, we got into some boat projects. The elusive weather window was beginning to become our biggest hurdle to jump over before our international fun began.

Everything on your boat is so meticulously clean and orderly. Very impressive - especially when you’re living full time on board.

Parker, For the mount replacements project.....consider replacing one corner at a time leaving the shaft coupling connected. Relax the support nut on the first mount then if accessible remove the bracket off the engine, usually four allen head machine screws. No lifting or prying on the engine required. After replacing the bracket with the new mount tighten the support nut to just slightly lift on the bracket. Repeat for the other three. Place the trans in neutral then spin the shaft coupling by hand, adjust the mounts till shaft spins freely. This saves having to disconnect the coupling and use a feeler gauge to align to a sagging shaft. On my SW II PickPocket I have removeable blocks on the rails under the mounts so I don't have remove the engine brackets. Have never seen the Holocaust Memorial. A solumn reminder of the depths of human suffering. Thank you for sharing this with everyone, especially now. Be Safe and Fair winds.

Hey, Dale! Thanks for your suggestions! We decided to un-couple the shaft from the transmission because I wanted to realign after. We ended up replacing one at a time, leaving the brackets on the engine. Did you re-power your SW II? We stumbled upon the Holocaust Memorial and yes it was a reminder of just that. Thanks again, hope all is well. Fair winds!

@@SailingSeawind Parker, saw your episode 25. Yeh my suggestions didn't apply there. That Bukh (Tough little motor as you well know) and some old Volvo installations use those mounts. Little to no room for a adjusting! Good thing you were able to do that in the water....the hull flexes changes shape when on the hard...you would of had to realign after launching. Have my SW II for 21 years. Ran well with the Westy 4-91, only had to replace the HE and rawe water pump, until five years ago. Main bearing seized, decided it was time to repower and renew everything. Installed a Beta 30 which made the engine room truly accessible. Only have 100 hours but so far very satisfied. My engine room is only now cramped by the mizzen support structure. You have great access around your Bukh. I have only dreams of touching my coupling or now PSS with more than three fingers with eyes trained on them while almost standing on my head. Have great luck on the next leg of the adventure!

The holocaust memorial is one of my favorite places in Miami. Through the tunnel, seeing the arm with the Jewish struggles was so moving. I love your videos. I can't wait to see more. Don't forget to get a cortadito, or a cafe con leche.
