One of the things I appreciate about the Gospel regarding the message about Christ's suffering, where cross referenced in John 10:16-18, Christ states that he has other sheep that he will visit, and he lays his life down for them, voluntarily; that it is a commandment from His Father. Notice though that visiting the other sheep is a "MUST" that he "bring those that are not of this fold." And it is wrapped up in the scriptural record, "this commandment have I received of my Father." Christ did visit the other sheep in this world. Legends and stories from many peoples on this planet confirm it, but it also included those that were dead. He opened up the gospel to the dead, in spirit prison. (Peter) This fits very well with Mosiah 3:11. It is almost like what may possibly have been removed from the Bible, has been supplemented back into its proper place with the messages found in the Book of Mormon. It is certainly a marvelous work and a wonder.

For the arithmetic, of Christ being both mortal and immortal Ilike to take “time” as we know it out of that equation. Thanks for your wonderful podcasts!

One of our leaders, I can't remember, said, Jesus was fully man, not half, fully God, not half. Yes, He is 100% both. ❤

30:46 I agree with Mike! I believe he’s 100% like God and 100% man. “Fully human and fully God”

In context Isaiah is talking about those that sin “for we have sinned.” So I understand it to mean when we turn from righteousness our works become filthy rags. I found commentaries both ways.

This used to be a pet-peeve and I made a 2 min video on it. Remember many will see zion’s deeds and decide God is good. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYu8aJaDo66jjNUsi=ax8d3r5xlYbAnpdw

Indeed our righteousness is what is “most precious” to Him (Jacob 5). Also, it is good deeds that will convince many that Zion has value (Ezekiel 14:23).

Yes … Isaiah has many excellent commentataries and I (Mike) certainly appreciate the value to a multivalent reading of his words! Thanks for listening!

I searched out more information on sukkot, and that lead me to be introduced to the ancient practice of hakhel. Super interesting! Mike, I’m wondering if hakhel might be what is happening here with King Benjamin’s people? Everyone is gathered together, not just the men. Or would that practice not have been in place prior to Lehi and his family departing from Jerusalem?
@talkingscripture5 ай бұрын
Yes there is a lot going on here. The fall festival is happening and yes, the description of families being gathered do correspond to Deuteronomy 31.10-13. You are definitely on the right track here.

I love this podcast so much. I just wish Bryce would not interrupt or talk over Mike. There is such a huge discrepancy in the amount of time between how much Bryce talks compared to Mike.
