🙏 for quick recovery. I don't know how Woody does so much by himself! Wade is adorbs!

Aw thank you! He’s doing pretty good all things considered. We picked up a different type of brace he can wear inside his boot today & I think he’ll be back at it tomorrow afternoon. We have our last anatomy scan at 9, midwife appointment at 12, and then should be back out there around 3. Jam packed day, but hopefully a really good one ❤️

Thank you! he's doing much better, and we got really lucky that we had plenty of other tasks to jump on which didn't require him to be so physically involved. Just getting that big tank to the property will line us up for the next big project when this one is all wrapped up. then ill get to spend the winter canning and cozying up with the new baby filling that thing up!

I hope Woody is a fast healer!! Doesn't seem like much will keep him down!! Any progress is good progress!! Hope you get back on track!! Best of luck!!

He’s determined! Can’t blame him, he wasn’t able to be here after we had Wade, and I know he wants to be in a place where we can rest and relax when this one comes. It’ll be a new experience for him. ❤️

Whew! I was getting nervous thinking that I was going to see you fall or seeing something fall on you! Glad it wasn't either of those! Take care!

When it first happened I didn't want to ask if he was recording at the time, but I watched back the footage and it happened to occur when he cameras were put away. thank goodness! not that it was a particularly nasty injury to watch, but I wouldn't want to see that. It's been a week and a half since the injury now & I think he'll be getting back up the ladder with a brace on this afternoon. even if its. just to get the pieces that came apart back together.

That sucks hope you give it a chance to heal up. The most important thing is the health of you and your family. The rest will get done with your determination. Videos are great keep them coming!

thank you! its a lot shorter than usual, mostly because woody had to take a few days off to see his Doctor & just stay off the thing... but we've got something extra and a little different planned as a bonus this week in addition to Friday's video!

Sad to see Woody is injured I do hope he recovers safely and quickly so you can still put out your interesting videos good luck from the UK.

Thank you! he's doing much better, but he will definitely be wearing a brace for the next few weeks at best. I think we'll get back to welding this afternoon, weather permitting, just with a lot more cautious steps. Lord willing, this Friday we'll be showing off a completed main roof structure!

If it can happen, it will. My go-to has always been, "If not for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all." But thankfully, the wife and I just wrapped up two years of building our own homestead house, woodshed, solar system, and built our own furniture all from the wood from our land. We had some local Amish mill the wood for us (pine, hemlock, maple and cherry), and built a nice little 1500 sq/ft two story home ourselves. (I'm 67, she's 63, so it we could do it, anyone can). We made a lot of raw videos and uploaded them, but I'm just now getting in to editing stuff so I'll eventually have a lot of (hopefully) good videos tracking our progress. We've still got a LOT of work to do (cleaning up a lot of the miles of trails around the property, getting a permanent garden made, building more furniture and adding some nice outdoor spots near some of the creeks and overlooks on the property) so it's a never ending process. We get the inspiration to keep going by watching channels like yours to motivate us to keep going when some days you just feel like doing nothing. But you can never "do nothing" when you're the only ones doing it for yourselves. We're in upstate New York in smack in the middle of the snow belt where we moved coming up from North Carolina. (I grew up next to Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, the wife is from Ottawa, Canada). We moved up here to be near her family from our last home in the High Country of the North Carolina mountains. So we know all about just picking up and going, even at our ages. Good luck, congrats on the impending new addition to your growing family, and we look forward to following along with your journey. If you get the chance, take a look at ours too! It's not much, but again, we did it by ourselves, and you will too!

Oh my gosh. I love this so much. And wow, small world! We lived just outside the Yasmin gate right after we got married, it’s an interesting area!! Y’all are living the dream. Maybe one day when things are settled here we’ll get a chance to travel & see some places like yours. My dad grew up in queens & spent summers out near yall. I’ve always wanted to go but never quite had the chance.

Playing a little catch up, but I'm glad y'all were able to pick up the container. Side note....that laser Woody was using is pretty awesome and seems like it can be very useful. Sorry to hear he got injured on the job cause ankle sprains are no fun, but I hope he has a speedy recovery!

Hi Phillip! We've been really fortunate that our issues havent held us up too much, but they sure are a bummer at the moment, thats just the way it is. Grateful to be making any progress at all, thats for sure! Mind my asking what area y'all are trying to get out of?

I hope Woody recovers soon. It may be worth getting some treatment on that ankle, Take care.
@woodysbarndominium5 ай бұрын
definitely! we are waiting to hear from his provider at the VA on an MRI or follow up with ortho, but ruled out bone involvement right away with X-rays. he's a pretty quick healer, but I've been pushing him to take it easy until he feels comfortable dancing around on the ladder.

I saw some nice kit some other uses when they collect there water in the same white tank as you got. They take the water from the roof and install this kit. First the water goes out and take the leaves and dirt from the roof and then starting to fill the tank and of top of the tank there was 1 extra net filter.

believe it or not, this is him being careful. LOL... he's doing a lot better, I think with the ace wrap and a higher boot, we'll be back at welding this afternoon, even if its just trying to get back to where he was 2 weeks ago, its progress.

Bro, you need to slow down. Every week you have some sort of calamity. One of these times, it could be catastrophic. Take care.
@woodysbarndominium5 ай бұрын
respectfully, we are being very careful (nothing would get done around here without woody), but we're honest about what happens here, so we share all the little things that happen wether or not it makes us look like experts. I dont want to mislead anyone into thinking that every project will go smoothly, or be simple, or as easy as you think it should be.
@angelaagee10775 ай бұрын
Take it from a bad ankle expert from now on you're going to need to put on one of the really tight socks that they make for weak ankles and your work boots are going to have to be well work boots that lace up over your ankle area and it's going to have to be laced up pretty snug as much as you can make it comfortable but not cut off your circulation you have weekend your entire ankle especially after twice now so you're going to have to help with outside things to make it stronger when you're doing this kind of stuff I can walk through my yard put my foot in a hole and sprang my ankle
@woodysbarndominium5 ай бұрын
Gosh that sounds awful. when they did the X-rays on it at the VA they confirmed that he has arthritis in the ankle, which wasnt a surprise to us, but they sure didn't believe him when he said it during his initial assessment with the VA. lol... go figure!... we're hoping to be back on the container project this afternoon after church, maybe we can wrap up the roof structure by the end of the week and move on to the smaller cross members which will be much easier to handle

i read a few years back that if ankle injuries arent treated right they will be a problem forever. I wish I had it at hand but its about how your brain reacts to injured ankle.. I have had many and never treated them properly, so I know.. I am dealing with a cripppling knee injury right now. Keeps me awake at night. perhaps a google search with ankle injury, brain wiring or something similar.
@woodysbarndominium5 ай бұрын
Youre totally right! half of woody's workouts are just rehabbing old injuries & working at building the brain-muscle connection. he will be adding some ankle stability work to that here soon. shoot, once the baby comes ill have to do the same but with core work. I was shocked by how disconnected my whole core was from my brain after I had Wade. It's like every muscle in there was sleeping.
