Nothing but respect for Jonny. He’s the real deal!

I met J2B in NH back in '09 after an SD show. He came walking through the crowd as people were leaving and nobody said anything to him. I seized the opportunity and got a photo with him. Swell guy. Fast fwd to May 2024 Boston. I hung around late night after the SD/Bad religion show and once again met J2B. I play the Mike Ness role in my SD tribute band called Social Destruction. I slipped him a biz card and basically asked that if there was any issues with me doing the tribute that they contact me directly rather than receiving a cease and desist letter. He just laughed at me and said that it's all good. We talked about the tribute band scene and he said that if he was going to ever do a tribute he would do CCR. I said sign me up! LoL. Then Mike Ness came out and slipped onto the bus very quickly. With his cancer recovery.. I didn't want to press him, but Johnny did a great act of kindness and took my '76 Les Paul gold top to Mike for him to autograph. He didn't have to do that and he could have easily given me the "well it's getting late" speech. Such a humbling moment for me that I'll never forget. Fast fwd to Oct 9th 2024. I saw SD at Hampton Beach NH and I finally got to meet Mike Ness. Again, I slipped him a biz card for my tribute and he had no issue with me doing it. I was also able to get a photo with him. That band is so much more than just a band. They are hard working honest humans and a lot of SD fans feel an unspoken connection with them which is a very rare thing these days. They are still keeping real. Wonderful interview!

Great interview! Stirred up a lot of memories. Going to check out Tony's band. I wondered where he went, he disappeared one summer and was the in the know guy, lol. Cool, we all had some of those punk tapes where we didnt know the bands because it was a mix tape kids would borrow back and forth, many of mine were pinkled, aka slipped into my pocket at a party by accident, only to hear the bands again later way after the death of the "tape" and go oh yea, so thats who that was! Glad I havent been back to the olympic, I still like to remember it as huge inside, with thousaands of people! I am in DK 1984 on the stage in the orange striped shirt there and chipped my tooth. So glad to be a part of history! Thanks for the interview guys

Back in the 90's I used to send "cash and money orders" for records, zines and punk T-Shirts. The only time I got ripped off was when I ordered some stuff from the US Bombs.

In the early to mid 80’s I was sending cash for countless demo tapes from punk and hardcore bands. I would receive maybe 75 percent at best lol Duane probably hit his head after sticking your money in his pocket lol

Have had a Cadillac Tramps sticker on my Strat since about 1993? From a show when they played in Regina.
