I'm a Shia too. But how much of these classes are based on books?? Do we just piece together our own narrative using whatever is convenient for us from Sunni Books, and we ignore the things which we disagree with in Sunni Books?? Why don't we do a 100% history from our own books?? Yes that history will have less details, but it will be based on something we believe to be true. Not to mention Ya Shaykh, the other day I saw your episode about Umar, and you didn't even know the name of Abu Jahl, and you didn't even have any student behind the scenes who could google it really quick and not embarrass our whole school of thought. His name was Amr Ibn Hisham by the way, and even teenagers among the other school know this. If we want people to take us seriously, we need to be more academic. Just my take. Academic Sunni's don't even take our scholars seriously because we are inconsistent with our citations and sources. We need to change this if we want intellectual people to take the School of the Ahlul Bayt with serious consideration. And if we don't want our School to appeal to the intellect, then our approach to the history of the Deen is flawed.

I can assure you that many Sunnis(if not all) have never bothered to open books to gain knowledge; its mostly passed down from the previous generations! Also i have never got any answers from Sunni Scholars, let alone other people about any historical questions i ask abt the incidents during the time of the Prophet pbuh.. All i have ever been told is, "Don't ask too many questions! Dont dig too much that you end up becoming a Kaafir because of your Curiosity! We dont know what happened back then, Allah knows best, all we can say is stick to what your ancestors taught you, cause they're Wise, never question your Ancestors its disrespectful and you might end up offending Allah if you question the authenticity of Allah's favourite people! Aisha, Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Muwaiyya, etc are people favoured by Allah, if you dig too deep, you might get Misled and become a Shia, cause thats how they(the Shias) get Sunnis to convert to Shias. Do whats the Farz and leave the rest for Allah to determine who's right or wrong, we dont want to pick the wrong side and End up in Hell. The Sunni Scholars & Our Ancestors did the required research, so we dont need to use our brains as we dont have the capability to know the truth from falsehood, only Allah has the knowledge.. lets stick to the right path(Sunnis) and not deviate from the truth by going down the rabit hole and getting lost and losing our Jannah by being Investigators!" All my life i found Islam very repulsive Nao-zo-billah, strictly because i never got answers to any of my questions, i never found logic in the Stories being told to me, i was forbidden from asking questions to get clarifications which always made me all the more Suspicious about the Authenticity of the Historical events and narrations! Honestly if i had all these answers since my childhood, i would have grown to love Islam all my life rather than finding it repulsive and Illogical. Alhamdulillah the more i watch your Series, I'm falling in love with Islam and the Ahlul Bayt, and im getting answers to everything and its absolutely Logical and Believable! Salaam Alaykum. Firstly, congratulations on finding the path of Ahlulbayt. It is indeed the Sirat al-Mustaqeem that we pray for daily in our prayers. Having said that, indeed Ahlulbayt, as they have divine knowledge, have answers to our questions. Hence, it is only the School of Ahlulbayt that encourages questioning anything and everything. And life becomes easier when you follow those given by Allah instead of trying to find leaders for yourself who are fallible humans.

I hope everyone stop responding to Sunni comments. Its not uniting or dividing or works of enemy. No, we chose to be Shia and for that we will answer to Allah (swt) and Rashool (SAW) and Ahlulbayt(as) will recognise us and intercede for us inshallah. Don't need to justify to Sunni about our belief and have a "healthy debate". Clearly the sign isn't meant for them. Not sure why people waste their time to debate, comment on these channels when they are not Shia. Unless they have a genuine question. It is almost end of Ramadan so keep your mind and soul busy with Quran, Hadith of Ahlulbayt (as) not RA and listening to good lectures.

When we say it was not mentioned at Saqifa in sunni sources, what sources are we talking about that are supposed to pre-date the Umayyads? I would strongly believe that any written account of Saqifa is from after Muawiya came into power.

To my knowledge it is known that Tabari would include narrations while knowing they were spurious. The fact that he includes one narration is not, to my knowledge, definitive proof. I strongly believe that there are narrations in his Tarikh that do not alllign with a shi'i understanding of history, so to pick out *one* narration in a vast work seems insincere.

Tabari is not the only source that offers clues. History relies heavily on contextual evidence, and evidence gains greater validity when it originates from sources that oppose your claim.

I don't think Imam (AS) says people and means specific people. When he (AS) says people he means all outsiders (except Hadhrat Khadija, Imam himself and the freed slave Zayd). Also don't judge Abu Bakr by him not being able to convince his family, Abu jahl didn't believe as well. Be careful in making logic based arguments. Imam Jafar as Sadiq (AS)'s mother traces her lineage to Abu Bakr.. be very very careful when you pass judgements on people (Abu bakr) who are dead and cant refute.. Best way is to avoid those we don't agree with and focus on the Imam's.who are the fountain of knowledge and our saviors in this world and the next.

If shia keeps calling Aisha names, let then answer Allah on the day of judgement! We sunnis accept that Aisha was wrong in the event of Jamal and it's informed in the hadith. But for you follower of ibn saba, a Jew rabbi you can Marry disbeliever bcoz it was allowed in Jewish Scripture to their Prophet's.. (Quran 2:221). ​Do not marry unbelieving women , until they believe: A slave woman who believes is better than an unbelieving woman, even though she allures you. Nor marry (your girls) to unbelievers until they believe: A man slave who believes is better than an unbeliever, even though he allures you. Unbelievers do (but) beckon you to the Fire.
