In 6:50 A sister asks why men didn't get married at a young age like women? The Sayed gave an answer. Another answer could be if we believe marriage is about maintaining our linage is that women at the age of about 40 can no longer reproduce and from the age of 35 onwards the risks of birth defects rise. While on the other hand men can easily be able to be involved in the reproduction till the age of 60.

In the episodes discussing the age of Aisha to the prophet, didnt the sayed say that a 9 yo is not capable of giving consent and used that as a reason why aisha was not 9 at the time of her marriage? Why is it that now this is not an issue?

Salaam Alaykum. Sunni books claim that the Katb-Kitab or Nikah took place when she was six, and the marriage was consummated when she was nine. So, at the age of 6, she was a child and hence unfit to give consent. At the age of 9/10, a girl is considered to be Baligh (adult) in the eyes of Islam -- even according to the majority of Maraje today. Hence, if she has Rushd (mental maturity), Islam allows her to get married (with the consent of her guardian).

According to most accounts, the Prophet had five children (apart from the two girls adopted by Lady Khadija). None of the children survived except for Lady Fatima. We have covered this in detail in the episodes related to Prophet's marriage to Lady Khadija.

When it comes to father in law, we see that someone like Abu Sufyan also got this status. It is never presented as an honour by Allah or the Prophet. But marrying the 'Leader of the women of the Paradise' and the daughter whom Prophet called "a part of me" was definitely an honour.

Qumi in his tafsir, “Tafsir Qumi” narrates from Abi Abdullah: “When the prophet (sws) was in the cave, he (sws) said to Abu Bakr (ra), “I see the ship of jaffar in the river with his companions. And likewise i see the ansar. Abubakr (ra) asked can i also see? The prophet (sws) said , “yes”. Abubakr asked how? The prophet did masah with his hands on abubakr’s eyes. Thus, abubakr saw what the prophet saw. Then, the prophet turned to abubakr and said, “You are siddique.” Tafsir Qumi, 1/289 2. Abdul azeem hassani narrates from Ali bin mohammad bin Ali al riza and he narrates from his father and granfather and they narrated from Hassan bin Ali (ra) that the prophet (sws) said: “ Abu bakr is beloved to me to the level of hearing, Umar to the level of sight and Uthman to the level of heart.” Alburhan 565, 4/564 3. Imam Reza (ra) was asked about the prophetic hadith, “My companions are like stars. Whomever you refer to, you’ll be guided.” Imam said, “This hadith is weak, but its meaning is inshallah correct.” Then he was asked about another prophetic hadith, “Leave my companions to myself. Do not annoy them. Do not slander them”. Imam (ra) said, “Its authentic.” Ayon Akhbar al reza lil-Qami 2/87

Salaam Alaykum. It seems you are mixing things up and also false quoting narrations. 1) Had being father in law of the Prophet a merit, the Prophet would have mentioned it in his hadith. However, marrying Lady Zahra was a merit shared in both Shia and Sunni hadith books. 2) We have nothing against companions. In fact, a lot of companions usually forgetting by Ahlal Sunnah are discussed by the School of Ahlulbayt. Our criteria is simple, we only consider those as role models who are praised by the Prophet and his progeny. So for example, the complete narration of Uyoon from Imam Reza is as follows: Some asked him about the meaning of this tradition: "My companions are like the stars: If you follow any of them, you shall receive guidance," and another one saying, "Leave my companions to me." Both of these traditions are considered by Sunnis as the foundation of their generalization of their judgement regarding all companions of the Prophet (s), thus justifying even their acts which contradicted Islamic justice, calling what they could not justify as "an error in ijtihad." But the Imam (AS) provides us with the actual explanation of these and other such ahadith with honesty and integrity, outlining in an easy manner their exact meaning. In his answer regarding the first tradition, he said, "Yes; he did say this hadith, meaning thereby the companions who did not make any alteration after him or any change." He was asked, "How can you tell that they altered and changed?" He said, "This is due to what is reported about him (p.b.u.h) that he said, `Certain individuals among my companions will be forcibly pushed away from my Pool (of Kawthar) on the Day of Judgement just as strange camels are pushed away from the watering place, and I shall cry, `O Lord! My companions! My companions!' and it shall be said to me, `You do not know what innovations they invented after you,' so they will be pushed away towards the left side (where Hell is), and I shall say, `Away with them; ruined they shall be.'" The Imam continued to say, "Such will be the penalty of those who alter and change (hadith)." Duas.

I’m wondering how come when it comes to marriage in early ages you consider today’s condition and bring excuses that in that time it was normal of marriage in very young age but today has changed, but don’t you think that didn’t Allah show them the right way of not to marry or propose to that 9 years old child? Has the children’s body changed or Allah has changed his idea or the human got wiser to know the risk of early marriage? Some thing is wrong here, if Islam is that correct why it hasn’t taught about how dangerous it is to marry in that age(9), but you Mollahs are proudly talking about Ali and Fatima marriage. Don’t you think that they made mistakes and you are here to cover and bring excuses for those mistakes. If you are proud so get your daughter to marry at 9 or 11, if you don’t like it and your heart says you shouldn’t then admit that at this age marriage is wrong and they made mistakes Maybe then you can guide some people not to get daughter to marry in young age
