Looks a bit warmer down there than back here. Tons of blowdowns huh? Definitely nice to do without the foliage. Plenty of green tunnel to look forward to before you get done, so enjoy while you can! Trail looks way smoother than the crap we deal with back home. Fun day out in the rain too! Makes it interesting and builds character!

Thanks JR 👍. Oh warm and humid…I’m not used to this weather. That one section was a logging area I believe. Trail was smoothe until these past couple days…today I felt like I was in the White Mountains…kicked my butt!

That looked like some great hiking, Papa Bear! Nice views through the barren trees, and nice to make one last stop at Pinhoti Center. They seem like really nice folks. Glad that you are getting stronger, too! Keep it up!

Thanks guys 👍. The Pinhoti Outdoor Center was great and was nice to meet them! It was a couple nice days and I’m enjoying the trail.

Thanks Adam 👍. I wish Guthooks/Farout would identify some of the landmarks a little better. Went through Cheaha Wilderness past couple days…man was it tougher than I expected.

Looks like no shortage of water so far so that's always nice. More importantly, that beard is still on point!

A couple water caches in the dry sections I was thankful for. Thanks to recent rains a lot of the seasonal water sources were flowing 😀. Got to take care of the beard 🤣

Good morning!! Great first few days babe. Sure was a lot of rain that one day! Rocks looked slippery. Maybe it was good that you were delayed a couple weeks for your views (not that us having covid was fun 🙁 but). Guess you better get your cold soaks on earlier...😃 love you! ❤️
@BearTrekAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Thanks babe 💕. Rained all day for 16 miles 😱 Definitely had to be careful because it was pretty slick. Yep I need to start soaking that food sooner so I can eat 🤣. Love you 😍

Hi Papa Bear. Glad things are going well for you. I have never done a long distance backpacking trip. Is it hard to stay focused on the current day and not think about all the miles in front of you? Look forward to your videos. Hugs to little Bear.

Thank you 👍. I try just to think about the daily mileage goal and the section I’m hiking…basically plan it from town to town. I try not to think about how much is left or it could easily get overwhelming.

Road walks not too bad yet but I got a couple of long road walks ahead of me…those will be tough. Past couple days trail has kicked my butt so road walking may not be too bad.

Kind of funny how you keep getting rides back to the beginning of the hike. If your friend doing the AT as well or just the Pinhoti?
@BearTrekAdventures2 жыл бұрын
It was a nice place 😀. Ammo is doing the first 111 miles of the Pinhoti for an AT shakedown…he starts the AT on 3/31.
@RussellVineyard2 жыл бұрын
The AT is like #10 on my bucket list. Is your normal 15 miles per day-ish?
@BearTrekAdventures2 жыл бұрын
My weekend trips in NH it’s typically 15-25 miles a day. So far on this trip it’s ranging from 11-16/day except for neros in and out of town.
