Ahhhh, very nice of you to say mate! Nice one, fingers crossed for you. I've been pointing out Unimogs on the road for about 10 years, very chuffed that the missus came round :) It actually ended up her idea I think ;) You're welcome along, we are heading back to Lithuania this week (woop) for the next phase of work (videos are a bit behind real time) and should have a hab box on by mid September! Cheers, James and Kristina

Congratulations on this new venture, James and Kristina. Thoroughly enjoying your content, and loved the little visual comparison of James' guns to the guy from The Outfit😄... I'm sure the restoration over the coming months will be thrilling and well worth it! Name suggestions for the Unimog?... The Mogadon, HedgeMog, Bog in the Mog (lavatory humour), or Mog in the Bog(driving fail humour), Mograthon (a play on marathon for your world tour)...I love Unimogs, so I guess i got carried away, over mogified the names😊

Ooow, it's a small world young James. It would seem that we have a lot more in common than just vans and trucks! Not too much to say on here, however, TASF.....I take it that you were North! I was TASF South, 2002 to 2008. I knew you were ex-mob, I said that to Claire the first vid we watched of yours, although I must admit, I thought Navy! Per ardua ad astra, brother!
@victorsvanventures67533 жыл бұрын
Oh really, a small world indeed! Yes, TASF North, errr, I think 2005 for a couple years and actually your face does ring a bell. Maybe our paths have crossed before at some point.... I would have been the aforementioned, upside down sootie :) Ha, yes, we can all generally spot each ay! I'll forgive you for the Naval confusion, must be the way I walk! ;)

You've got yourselves such an awesome truck. Can't wait to see this massive thing turn into a home! Do you think you'll keep the storage boxes and use them elsewhere? They look handy
@victorsvanventures67533 жыл бұрын
@Jojo and Scott Thanks very much, we are both very excited about this too 😁 It's looking unlikely, but still depends on the budget, the two jerry can holders will probably turn into a gas canister holder (with either modification or replacement), the two boxes behind the spare wheel will probably be replaced by a water tank and the two at the back (and this is the budget bit) we would like to replace with a custom made stainless steel tool and spare storage area 😍

Do you have a design in mind? Have you drawn anything up?
@victorsvanventures67533 жыл бұрын
@David Bacon Yes, we do! James has been doing some drawings and I taught myself how to use SketchUp. We had the basics of the design in mind for a few years now so just finalizing the drawings now. We will be ordering sandwich panels for the box quite soon so we need to have it all settled by then as the company will make the incisions for windows and doors and we want them to be in the right place! We will share more about the design in the future videos.

Hey guys found your videos recently and really enjoy them! I don’t know exactly what’s going on with your issue on the front axle but there is a rather common issue because the Unimog wasn’t necessarily designed for “fast” highway driving and tends to loose oil in the differentials of the portals then. There’s a solution for it: www.ubelix.de/Ausbau/ausbau-06-eng.htm But as I mentioned, no idea what’s going on with your car. I only drive his little brother, an ex-army G-wagon 😊
@victorsvanventures67533 жыл бұрын
Hi Maximilian, thanks for your message! Yes, we have heard about this problem but we are yet to understand the solution. Thank you for the link, we'll definitely look into that. We think that our leak was due to a perished hub seal which has now been changed. G-wagons are great machines too :) which country are you from? Best wishes! Kristina
