Pictured of my parents who were extremely sexually abusive and drug addicts. It feels so good to let go of those pictures. I always correlated their pictures with actually having a decent mom and dad. Now I accept that I didn't and it's okay.

💜💜💜💜 The most memorable thing I learned from you: treat things like employees. Every “thing/employee” serves a purpose. I use my Instant Pot almost daily. That’s a useful employee. I will keep it. My “I Love Lucy” memorabilia was collecting dust in my closet. That employee wasn’t doing anything for me, it wasn’t serving me. That employee was fired and donated to my local thrift store that feeds homeless people. Every employee in your house takes up space and requires attention. Why keep an employee if it’s no longer working for us? Why keep employees stacked up in our closet? It’s time to fire those employees. Thank you soooo much. I feel free💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I outgrew part of my plant collection. I knew it when I didn’t want to water them all anymore (never mind dealing with pests). I gave a bunch of them to my newly retired sister. I also am transitioning to succulents that require less frequent watering. I don’t miss those green plants one bit, in the past I would have. I am reducing my outdoor plants slowly too. When do I know when I have outgrown something? When I don’t want to take care of it anymore.

“But what really binds us together, for me, is the way we disagree.” I enjoyed hearing that. Imagine a society that valued and encouraged healthy and productive disagreements as a way to further explore and question our own viewpoints, as we try to get others to embrace our own.

I love that Ryan feels comfortable bringing up trauma. I know Ryan is on vacation, but please share with him that, there's a book called Complex PTSD: from Surviving to Thriving by Pete Walker. That changed my life. Hope to see you back on the show, Ryan!

I'm 'facing' a move within the next 12 to 18 months. Desperately aware that I need to Minimalise masses of my possessions,so that I don't need to move them. I'm getting there by returning to the Minimalists in a 'Big Way'. Need a new way to be/to do/to keep and to buy. Also doing a course on FI to do finances differently. It feels like a massive elephant to eat, but I'm gonna do it all the same. Wot a Rebel 😂😂😂

14:53 I want an episode with those people. What does a non traumatized person look like? Not physically, but in behavior and mind? I haven’t met a person who upon getting to know them doesn’t admit to some sort of trauma. I’m curious if they’re highly tolerant to trauma, and what role did their parents play in this gift? For parents who want to help our own children.

Not a fan of the first 300 episodes being removed from YT, that's what it sounded like anyway. Because speaking of being a completionist like Josh mentioned, that's how I am and now I would completely lose my progress from YT and I don't want to have to start over somewhere else. I just watched an episode that was a few years old that was fantastic, the 3 hour episode with the 2 guys from Nourish Balance Thrive and wouldn't have been able to watch if it had been removed. I got immense value out of it. I don't think removing episodes from one platform to put them behind a paywall with progress removed brings value to your audience. #mytwocents

I've outgrown where I live. It worked for me because it's affordable, close to work, was close to my elderly dad. I retired a year ago and my father has passed away. I have no reason to live here other than it's affordable. I am not from this area so it's not like I grew up here and have friends and family close by. I do not know where I want to live. I always thought after I retired I'd move to a retirement community in Florida but now I'm not certain I want to do that. Also, because the cost of homes has skyrocketed I feel there isn't a lot I can afford. So for now I live here and hopefully I'll find the place I want to retire to and a home I can afford.

This news is really devastating. I just recently found you guys and have absolutely loved the older episodes. I also really, really love the longer episodes. I've been listening constantly and find it so easy to just put on an episode and go about life. Short episodes mean constantly stopping, searching for another, starting the cycle over -- so frustrating. I just cut out a number of subscriptions because I'm working hard to free myself from debt. I'm sad that your free episodes will now cost money to even access. So much for the Minimal episodes being free. Less episodes to watch and less in an episode. I'm just beyond disappointed.

If I'm being honest, I don't like to celebrate the 4th of July in the sense of parties. Now that I stopped drinking, I associate the holiday with partying. I will say I LOVE the idea of celebrating the why and I love the pledge and star spangled banner (brings tears to my eyes).

I knew it! 🙌🙌🥳🥳Can't wait to see this new format with T.K. I'm so looking forward. However, please someone correct me if I'm wrong...... these minimal YT podcasts aren't going to be cut to ONLY 20 mins now is it? I still re-watch those older long podcasts. Which I enjoy so much and I'm just getting used to these newer, shorter, 45min podcasts. Are we now going even shorter as to 20mins? 😟 I HOPE I'M WRONG. 🙏

Trying to "change" someone only means that you are not in a compatible relationship and you are only compatible with someone until you are no longer compatible. Compatibility is present when everyone involved benefit. It isn't a zero sum game of someone winning while others sacrifice.

The awareness of -piling new on top of old doesn’t work- opens thought to a better understanding of living in full bloom. It’s like putting a new roof on top of old supports. Eventually the new will cave in with the degenerative framework. Thus what is the framework of supporting the “new”? It is intention, it is living only to please the Creator, in truth, and not ego.

I disagree with your views on your 349 podcasts. Your first 100 were, in my opinion, the best by far. You occasionally still have a show that rivals your first one hundred. I prefer the shows when it's just the two of you and no guests, but then again, on occasion you'll have a guest that I really enjoy. I have never got into TK Coleman, nor do I care in the least for the bully Dave Ramsey, whom you constantly advertise for (not technically, but you mention him in nearly every episode and Josh has done so for at least the last 100 episodes). I am no longer going to be a patreon member after hearing the latest news. Thanks for all the great shows, you have changed my life for the better, but I'm just not digging the direction the show has been going. I hope you get off your Dave Ramsey kick.
@JosPlays2 жыл бұрын
I think we just outgrew this show. I really liked the older episodes by far because they had the most impact on me and changed me for the better. I hope they will do longer episodes in the future again, because it's nice to listen to, but I don't want to get it too crowdy. I don't need a third person in the show, but maybe The Minimalists need it. After 350 episodes I can understand that everything becomes a little bit of the same. As for Dave Ramsey I do agree with the no debt vision and making your own money, but after a few shows it becomes more of the same, so it will not add any value after you hear his message.
@lauraandrews83192 жыл бұрын
@@JosPlays I was a Patreon member for a few months, I just cancelled that when they made the new announcements. I don't care for the direction the show is going, I usually never even listen to an entire episode now, I don't remember the last show I got really excited about, but I can say for sure that they didn't have a guest on it, and didn't bring up a Ramsey personality.
