How would your relationship with money change if you had a terminal illness? Let me tell you right now, it would have a huge impact on it! This is why I wanted to have Jeremie Saunders on the show to share his story.
He's the co-host of the Sickboy Podcast and lives with cystic fibrosis. From an early age, he knew that having CF would cut his lifespan short, which on the one hand made him live life to the fullest but on the other, meant he didn't think too far into the future when it came to his money. That is until he was introduced to a new drug that would lengthen his life exponentially. This meant that things like getting married and starting a family were no longer out of reach, but it also meant he needed to start thinking about tackling his finances and building long-term wealth.
In this episode, Jeremie provides insight into his battle with CF, how provincial healthcare has played a significant role in his life and career, and how he hopes his Sickboy Podcast can not only put a spotlight on living with illness but why it's so important to have open conversations about health, wealth, and our own mortality.
I’m also giving away a copy of last week's podcast guest's book, so make sure to visit jessicamoorhouse.com/contest to enter to win!

This is great to hear. Living with a chronic illness and financial planning is something no one talks about and many people on disability think they will be living in poverty forever. It creates a very lonely path for the ones who believe they can become wealthy while chronically ill or disabled.

Yes Ontario is one of the worst when it comes to health care coverage for what they call "Specialty drugs" or prescriptions that support a life alternating health condition. ODSP , ODB coverage is awful. anytime I get a prescription I go in expecting them not to cover it then. have to get my doctor to fight for the Exceptional Access Program to get it covered. Edit to add the mess that is Ontario and health care, prescription coverage. Then I went on a search private coverage. I have to get it before I'm diagnosis with a new condition and wait and see if it will cover my pre-existing prescriptions and then the paperwork of exiting prescriptions already covered in ODB to be transferred and covered in the private plans. It's a whole thing you don't know until it happens and if you are not prepared it's a giant mess

YES! TTC overage company was or is with Great West Life. My dad had it and it took care of my health care needs until I was 25, So when I went searching for private coverage I found something comparable from Desjardin 🤣
