EP-4,Majuli (Assam) World's Largest River Island, Famous For Its Silk & Handloom

Hi, friends & baccha party, after reaching Majuli, first we went for Handloom and had a dinner @ Mising family. We stayed at Enchanting Majuli (Hotel) and dinner provided by their family only which was amazing and first time i had a drink made up of rice fermentation called Apong.
Majuli is the world,s largest river island and is located in the northeastern state of Assam. It is known for its natural beauty, vibrant culture and spiritual significance.
ABOUT MAJULI HANDLOOM......
Majuli is famous for its handloom weaving. Majuli is home to over 500 weavers. The Mising tribe of Assam, who live in a Majuli are particularly skilled at weaving colourful garments like Mekhla Chadar,Stoles and Shawls. The island is famous for Muga silk, a rare type of silk found only in Assam.
The traditional Majuli weaving involves use of vibrant motifs like flowers, animals and geometric patterns, often inspired by nature and religious symbolism. Majuli handloom industry plays a significant role in the local economy, provides livelihoods to many families.
In short, Majuli handloom represants the fusion of culture, tradition and craftsmanship, making it a unique symbol of Assamese heritage.
