"Look like he's got his leg on a rock or something". This made me actually laugh out loud because "ROCK OR SOMETHING" is actually on the instructions for every modern US military MRE heater. Also, served alongside the Brits in Helmand. Glad you guys are on our side. In all seriousness, this video was very helpful (even for someone who's been putting together plastic soldiers for awhile). Thanks mate!

@@TsCreativeRamblings oh I meant I just got the German Blitzkrieg Starter Set. This is my very first time at any thing miniature related. I plan to learn from your videos on how assemble,etc,them. Your guides seem the easiest to learn from.

Wow I’m really blown away by the quality of these minis. Especially for the price (got the airborne starter for >70) and the level of customization and control you have over your minis is amazing! A little overwhelmed coming from WH40k but I think I will really be grateful for it in the long run.

Looks like fun! I am getting my dad a starter set (band of brothers kit) for his birthday next week, can't wait to start making figures!

Interesting use of the glue. I don't usually have much issue with clogging, but I will have to remember that in future.

It does. Though I guess my throwing away the old bottle doesn't! I suppose any pin like item would work though.
@TsCreativeRamblings9 жыл бұрын
Oh no!!! Yeah anything like that. Or if your glue bottle works then no need to have a spreader. I kind of just made it up as I went a long in the beginning and it worked so I kept doing it until it was habit. Haven't had any need to change yet! :-)

I like to think of it as one more trick to have up the sleeve. Maybe for when it does clog and I don't have a lighter to burn the blockage from the metal tip.

Sounds like a plan to me! ;-)

Just on glue- I use the same brand as you, but I put a dollop of good old saliva on the applicator before I replace the cap- tends to prevent the clogging issue. If I forget and don't use it for about 6 months, there may be some hardened glue left on the tip, but it's easily removed by hand. If it does manage to penetrate down into the applicator, I'll just run a bit of fuse wire through it- job done. Enjoyable videos, even for an old grognard like me. You've got an excellent presentation style- keep them coming.

Super old vid, but just wanted to say I appreciate it. I’m so disheartened with building these because getting the guns into hands and figuring out what goes to what is such a pain in the rear...

Thanks for the support and the comment. I know some plastic sets are better than others. The good ones often offer the opportunity to have a diverse looking group of figures within a force. However, they can be frustrating. Have you tried working in smaller number batches? Maybe just build 5 figures, paint and base them and see how you feel after doing them. I like to work with small achievable goals so I don't lose heart or get discouraged.

You should also mention, when you change blades, wrapit in masking-tape,: it will protect you from getting cut and protect the Guy that has to haul your junk away,...or better yet, wrap it up, and throw in a SHARPS Container. As far as gluing goes? Tell them folks NOT to prime before they build. Plastics are better with plastic ON Plastic,...not primer on Primer. Have a good one bro. Good video, I play BA too, but just some stuff I found out the hard-way. From one Wargamer to another.

if you get leaks from the glue that is on the figure itself, is it still safe to paint and prime over it? I think i made a mistake and put a guy with glasses a mgman. Is there a way i could switch his head? lol
@TsCreativeRamblings2 жыл бұрын
If you’ve already glued the head to the body then you may find it very difficult to remove the head and swap it for another one. You could cut it off with some hobby clipper or craft but you may damage the figure and watch out for your fingers. If glue gets on the figure and dries then I would recommend scraping it off with a craft knife as it will look odd when you paint the figure. I hope this helps!
@chiefbigtoe72602 жыл бұрын
@@TsCreativeRamblings thanks I was planning on using army painter spray primer before using Vallejo paint. Is it really necessary that I scraped it off? I was worried about a chemical reaction with the prime and acrylics plus the glue. I was hoping the primer would cover it, or hide the glue .
@TsCreativeRamblings2 жыл бұрын
It should cover the glue but you may find it isn't smooth and the glue creates an unnatural texture to the figure. You should be fine with those paint and primer, I would just sand the glue spill or scrape it off before priming.

I just wanted give some advice to the absolute beginners please please please don’t use plastic glue on your minis as it melts them and you’re gonna make some mistakes especially with the bowl action that have so many different options. I would recommend some hobby cement instead as it’s a lot easier to clean off if you make a mistake and it won’t melt the plastic mold of your minis. The level of frustration I had ruining a brand new Warhammer model when I barely have the money to spend on ANY hobby supplies in the first place, almost ruined this amazing hobby for me when I was first getting into it.
