That's a surprisingly cute apartment, maybe because there a 2 windows for such a small space, but it feels more roomy. If the fridge is not tall you can add some more storage over it, and it's not difficult to add a small shelf for toilet paper over the toilet, since it's not heavy)

As an American who grew up in apartments, I find it interesting that even the tiniest Japanese apartment has space for a washer/dryer. Even the largest of apartments I lived in had only communal washers and dryers in the basement of the building. I’m 70 years old and haven’t lived in an apartment for several decades, so I don’t know what the standard is now. If this is the apartment you are going to move to, I hope you continue making videos. I greatly enjoy seeing the restaurants and food you show.

It think in the USA most apartments still have no washer and it is the same in Germany. This is the most thing I love in Japanese apartments. You can wash your clothes and do not need to go outside.

Some newer apartments in North America have washers and dryers in the apartments. I lived in two which did. But there are lots of apartments which still do not.

The smallest apartments here in Germany that I know of in real life have around 23sqm, and very often the people who live there prefer going to a public laundrette once a week over wasting their precious little space for a washing machine. Also a lot of apartment buildings that were built in the 60ies and 70ies have these communal washing machines in the basement, even though the one person apartments have around 40sqm. But the standard is that most people who live in apartments have their own washing machine.

Do you young people not need to use the toilet at night? I would hurt myself at 3 am trying to navigate those ladders! I’d put a futon couch on the bottom level and use the loft for office/closet.

Sweet Usui, you could always place a toiletroll-holder (where you can stack multiple rolls on) in the toilet room, the rest you can stack somewhere else!!! So thus you do not need so much storage in the toilet room! I DO NOT LIKE LADDERS AT ALL!!!! They scare me so much (unstable & wanky) BAH!!! Love from an old rebel-Pinkie

Honestly this has to be the best loft space you've ever showcased. It is sunny, spacious, has its own window which isn't small, and would fit both a futon and a small working space. The loft alone elevates this appartment from a bad one to one at least worthy of consideration! I would love to try this one myself

The floor is so shiny. Beautiful. Every object has it's own space. Washing machine, refrigerator... Great. A separate room for the toilet. I like the loft space. Big window and enough space for a bed. 👍🏻

There's no real usable space on the first floor! Loft space seems decent, but I'd hate to have to go up and down those ladders every day.🙃

Since the journey is over when will you let us know what your choice is? It can't be this one. The way the apartment is set up it is difficult to put any furniture in. It seems that narrow area is not for the refrigerator. There isn't any outlet to plug it in. The two ladders took up most of the space. I hope you continue to post videos. I liked that the washing machine was well away from the living space and the kitchen had a real under cabinet and place for the fridge. Otherwise, it’s not my fav. You end by saying your journey is over. Does that mean you made your decision?

It has everything that is needed (not toilet rolls shelf though 😊) for life in a micro apartment. The limited safety railing for the ladders, especially the middle landing, would make me feel anxious though as so high up if slip. Your lunch looked delicious 😋

i really like it! i think if you furnish it correctly (bed with storage below it, books behind the smaller ladder and shelves below the big one for clothes, this could be a very functional apartment! It's also really sunny and appears very quiet. so cute!

Your lunch looked amazing! The stairs in the apartment, not so much. They made me anxious, and I wasn't even the one climbing them. I can't imagine being exhausted at the end of the day or needing to get up to pee through the night and having to navigate those. 😅 The rest of the space is very usable though.

Every time I’ve seen this unconventional spaces I think the importance of Kisho Kukosawa metabolic movement, that looked for the necessity to optimize small spaces in to self contained units. It’s so sad that it’s iconic Nakagin Capsule Tower it’s not here anymore, you will found it a very cozy and perfect space for you in just 10 sqm without sacrificing comfort

That is a pretty nice space. I think a futon in the loft would also provide enough space for one of those floor chairs to allow space to just kick back. I light and the height help make it feel more open.

I like that there is a little more space in the loft, some haven’t had room for a bed. It is good to have room for a refrigerator, something others didn’t; if you don’t need a refrigerator or even if you had a small one, you could put a bar high up so you could hang clothes above. I would like it better if there was a little more space on the main floor for a small sofa and your desk and chair, but I know it is not meant to be an apartment for entertaining. *If your journey is over, I hope you will still show us micro apartments, maybe even small apartments as I have much to learn about living in small spaces.

its looks comfortable to live in, the best part is shower wash feet because I always wash my feet when I came home. lots of room to keep things in. The loft has a window!

I like this, loft is bigger than needed, the ladders are not to steep and don't have to be moved, great use of the small amount of space

Downstairs feels more like an office, Space for long and narrow desk by stairs, you could put a little nightstand or storage cabinet with a tv at corner wall with the control panels across from kitchen, I'd use top for sleeping with a simple but thick mat and put one of those low sitting tables upstairs for coffee or tea lighting incense if allowed and use that space to get away from tech for a moment upstairs where it feels less crowded. Curious what the view is like outside the loft window but at least will make a nice breeze, not bad apartment. Wish it was slightly cheaper at $400 usd or 61000 yen although $350 would be ideal only because living in space areas like this really is a sacrifice in itself. If utilities included $400 is good.

Terminé ? Parce que vous le prenez ? Il y a la place pour des rangements sous les échelles et à côté du bureau. Sans doute aussi dans la mezzanine. Vous pouvez rajouter une étagère au dessus des toilettes pour le PQ ou un petit panier par terre. Dans l'entrée, quelques crochets au mur ou une barre au dessus du lave-linge pour pendre vos vestes. Bref, en y réfléchissant bien, vous trouverez des tas d'astuces pour rendre ce micro-appartement confortable. Peut-être de la place pour un petit fauteuil. Je n'ai pas fait bien attention au séjour. En tout cas, tous mes vœux pour la suite, où que vous viviez

Hi Usui, that doble ladder is not ideal. What you need is a little bit of extra space without the loft. Did you find a better place than the one you have now? Good luck!!!
