#officehours Congratulations for you guyz’s appearance on the JBP, as a day 1 fan, it’s great to see the deserved growth. What’s your opinion on paywalling content vs. having it out for free - example: Dr. Umar’s episode on the JBP would’ve been bigger/more impactful if it wasn’t on the patreon; in comparison to how big Katy Williams interview is without a paywall.

I’m with AJ… I hate that Charla complains all the time about how new people coming up… when he did his own thing to make his lane, then later he grew out of that… Let people get they money how they want to and let them grow when they choose…

AJ is committed to misunderstanding and hating on Charlamagne, in the previous episode his main issue in the Katt Williams was that people in the internet don’t wana think regular, people lie and everyone gets on the lie without doing a simple thing as google, and he mentioned nigganet twice in the episode (Katt Williams & TD Jakes). Charlamagne shows up more than Andrew in that BI podcast, just in the last two months he has done the BI without Andrew. In relation to the BC the only time they discuss the nigganet is when is during the rumour report and if you listen to the BC you’d know his inputs to the RR are mostly trying not to tear up people they are reporting.

Kevin Hart didn't pop up out of nowhere. He was doing his thing in Philly and NYC for a long time. Dame Dash saw him live in NY, thought he was funny, and gave him a role in his movie he was making called Paper Soldiers. From there, he ended up doing Soul Plane. But he got the Roc-a-Fella cosign early on, back when the Roc was at its peak.

I think the reason Joe called Black Effect a shell company because he look at it as Charlemagne bringing black podcasts to a large conglomerate company - basically Iheart making money off their backs. Similar to Bill Simmons The Ringer being on spotify. We may not agree that Black effect is a shell company but i sure we can agree that iHeart is the parent company.

Lmao let me break it down. Black effect is a shell company for i hart. To be a shell company you have to have some good shows going but if majority of your shows are dormant but you’re still running up the price on their business partners. It’s very possible that black effect is a shell but we don’t know the business behind the scenes

@floatinrocktubetalk376810 ай бұрын
Same but I don’t get why they review the show when they legit don’t like Rory or Mal. It’s not even actual critique, they are honestly too bias. Plus they only want drama from them so it’s not even about whether the podcast is good or not. I like this podcast a lot but I have just skipped watching them talk about Rory and Mal other than them talking about Edin. That segment was funny and entertaining. The guest host was fantastic that episode as well.
@jenjen325410 ай бұрын
@@floatinrocktubetalk3768 yeah I've wondered the same. Maybe bc it's connected to the other pods they discuss? Yes the Eddin discussion was good. If you're talking about the female host who was recently on the couch-her input was good and desired but also occasionally inaccurate if I remember correctly.

I'd like to address the recent changes in Charlamagne's career trajectory. It's evident that he has experienced a decline, and in my opinion, this decline can be attributed to a shift in his approach. Charlamagne was known for his hot takes and objectivity, which made him a respected voice in the media landscape. I've been a listener of the Brilliant Idiots podcast since 2012, and during that time, Charlamagne consistently provided insightful hot takes and maintained objectivity. However, things began to change around the time of Donald Trump's initial presidential campaign. It seemed that Charlamagne and others on the left started to embrace a more "woke" persona, focusing on aligning with left-leaning views rather than maintaining their objectivity. While this shift gained them popularity within left-leaning circles, it came at the cost of objectivity. The problem with this approach is that the left can be fickle in its support, and often their views do not align with those of the general public. People grew tired of hearing the same unchallenged talking points from the left and began to seek out voices that dared to express opinions that were less popular but felt more objective. In 2016, The New York Times featured a group of content creators known as the "intellectual dark web" who were unafraid to push back against the left's narrative. Fast forward to 2024, and most of these content creators are thriving in their careers. They garnered trust by remaining objective during a time when it was not fashionable to do so. In contrast, Charlamagne's popularity has waned because he seemed to sacrifice objectivity for fleeting popularity points. Candace Owens, for instance, is doing better than Charlamagne because she stayed true to her convictions and was unafraid to challenge prevailing narratives. Similarly, Andrew Schulz, Charlamagne's co-host, maintained his objectivity, which has contributed to his current success. After appearing on Joe Rogan's podcast, Schulz gained a dedicated fanbase that values objectivity in content creators. In conclusion, the decline of Charlamagne's career can be attributed to his shift away from objectivity in favor of aligning with popular left-leaning views. While this approach may have earned him temporary popularity points, it has cost him the trust of his audience, which now seeks objectivity in their content consumption.
