Ep 42 - Getting to grips

A little bit of an overview of the last couple of weeks and months.

I thought that the camera was off! Still it showed my best side (the back of my head!) Very smart polo shirt in the intro/outro.

I found a couple of clips hidden away. The camera had fallen on the side by the time we went through the barrier and I thought that the shots we had were worth including. I’m glad you liked the polo shirt! It’s one of my favourites.

Nice. Im considering buying a used 32, do you have a list of what you updated on the boat, and suggestions?

That’s a really good question, and maybe worth an episode in its own right. Where I would start is to ask what you want to do with the boat. If, (and I’m only cartooning for effect) you don’t want to travel very far or do very much Then you don’t need to do much more than the cosmetics. If you want to travel long distances in water you don’t know then you’re going to need to concentrate on those things that will really matter. In my conversations with James, he was always very good at asking “what do you want to do? how do you want to do it?”

Just the music John the rest is good to watch but music makes me turn off.. nothing like to sound of the boat

Hi Robert, thanks for this. As the videos become more about teaching I think there will be less cause to use music, that said I have heard some people say that they do quite enjoy the backing track on the b roll. I’ll definitely think more carefully about using it in the future.
