Getting a boat ready to be stored in Florida for Hurricane season, which is also the hottest, most humid part of the year in this particular region, is challenging. It's a lot of hot sweaty days, with an endless list of things to do.
Katy and I are both particular about how well we do something, and while some of the things in this video may seem like overkill, it can't hurt, right?
I mean really....
Truth is, Katy lives with OCD every day. She does a really great job with the tools she has to manage it, and she says our adventurous, always changing lifestyle is hugely beneficial to her mental health. Living amongst a boat completely torn apart, in 100% humidity puts it to the test. She does a great job of becoming one with the chaos this week. If we don't make you smile at least once, then are we even doing this right?

You haven't mentioned much about 'Gami' but from watching your Adventures- she appears to be a Porta-Boat Alpha Series. Is Gami a 8 foot or a 10 foot model? Did you buy her new or refurbished? Any option to buy the Bow Cap/Nose Piece, or is it better to leave it open?

Hey Todd! Gami is a Port-Boat Alpha 10 foot! We bought her new and are really happy with everything about our little dinghy. We originally left the bow piece at home but since using the boat and getting to know the behavior, we will be bringing it with us and giving it a try

@@Boundless_Adventure-thanks for the info about Gami! Everyone uses inflatables and I really like a dinghy that folds up, is easy to stow and doesn’t require an hour of inflation. Her capacity when loaded looks great.., I’m going to invest in one! ⛵️

What do you use to keep mold and mildew from taking over the boat?

We washed all of the interior surfaces with a strong vinegar/water mixture to kill any bacteria and left damp-rid containers in the boat! Hopefully we go back to a mold free boat!

Seawind is safe and sound. Indiantown marina was lucky with minor damage. Most of the threat was from tornado watches/warnings from the rotating outer bands of Hurricane Ian. We are very lucky!
