EP 47: Upgrading the Glarry

Hello There.
This week I'm going over the mods and upgrades I did to the Glarry Burning Flame Style Guitar I unboxed last week.
I swapped out the electronics adding a push pull pot and a new switch. Plus new pickups. I lubed the nut, put a arm tension spring in and adjusted the height.

I know how to do luthiering plus im a musician 50 yrs in the business i play bass, guitar,Drums ,and keyboards 4 way one man band. I do it all professionally. Plus i wanna thank you for teaching me. I aint spendin no 4 5 6 7 8 9 hundred or thousands on no upscaled guitar when with a Glarry build it to how i want it. Thanks my friend...im a girl and know this

Most Humucker guitars start around $200, so even with $30 pickups, it's a pretty good deal, plus on ebay the generic version of this guitar sells for about $70. Nice review, great work, nice upgrades too. I've got to say it seems a little out of place with your sound and image, this guitar looks like something from HR Puff n Stuff, metal head warlock guitar :) But it is nice and short, so easy to pack for travelling or storage. I enjoy your playing, nice mix of sounds. What neck profile and thickness did this have? What's a good video to learn guitar soldering techniques? It just be nice to look over somebody's shoulder, to watch them solder guitar electronics and maybe explain a bit also.

First off, thanks. I kind of bought it as a goof and because it is a kind incongruous with my style. I don't have a micro Meter, so I'm stealing these measurements from Trogly, you see for your self here. He says they are 23.9 mm thick at the nut and about 26 mm at the 12th fret. To my hand it's a C. If feels like a strat neck. I would compare it to a Kramer Focus 3000 I had in the 80's as far as soldering goes. this one give you some basics kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3mkZYaCg5mkm6M I find soldering to be a little deceptive, in that it always seems like it will be easier than it is. But practice makes perfect. I would watch a lot of video's about soldering and find what works for you. I hope that helps. Take care.

Another well done video. This video covers a lot of basic info for the viewer and you explain things in a very understandable way. Your speaking and video presence is that of a professional. Good Job! The guitar playing and backing track audio recording doesn't come across that great, but I understand for that to sound really good requires many hundreds of dollars of recording equipment and software. Keep up the good work man!

I am under the impression medium jumbo is the most common fret size. I sold this guitar, but I don’t recall the fret being unique

@@LearningCurveGuitar I'm also doing this to my glarry, it seems to have the 5 way pick up mix already, can I just switch the pick ups without changing the electronics too?

@@dckaelin You can. I got a new switch because it's not expensive to get a higher quality switch AND the tip kept falling off the blade of the orginal. With the New Switch and a new tip, the tip stays on. I also put in a bourne volume pot. You don't have to, I think they have nice taper.

What do you recommend for a tremolo setup I’d like to use mine more but it’s so stiff. I love mine all white red kill button installed but the “whammy” don’t whammy lol

Hi sir, i just watched your guitar review of glarry electric guitar.... I have been trying to purchase this guitar but i jus can't because i live in india and they won't ship these guitar here, i really want this guitar because its affordable for me ....plus it's best for me as a beginner ,i checked other sites as well ,ebay won't ship this product in india and on alibaba site they charge 500$ for shipping....
