Ep 49: The early history of secularism

This is a fascinating podcast. I cannot understand why radio and television companies have not dramatised the lives of radicals, secularists and free thinkers. TV companies seem to have any number of Victorian dramas but ignore completely these brave founders of our modern society. Melvyn Bragg drones on endlessly about obscure Christian issues or sects such as Arianism, Saint Cuthbert, Christian pilgrimage is in the Middle Ages etc but never touches on things that led to the development of a modern freethinking society. It is almost as if they are afraid of anything that led to independent thought! Well done all involved in this podcast. It deserves a much wider audience.
