Steve Marriner is for sure one of the greats not only as a soloist harp player, but he and Monkey Junk are awesome. Here in Canada we have the " Maple Blues Awards for honouring the finest in Canadian Blues ". Steve Marriner and Monkey Junk have been recognized and won the award many times in multiple categories. Great story. Met both Cotton and Oscher back in the day. Spent Christmas Eve with Paul Oscher, and Tom Townsley at WAER jazz 88 when he was married to Suzan Parks. Hung out with him a handful of other times after. Loved the man. Out of all the harp players I got to meet he was my favorite. Talked with me and the last thing he probably wanted to do was hang out with a 19 or 20 year old kid at the time. I got a funny Oscher story about that night at the radio station
