I play alone almost exclusively. I'm listening to my instrument, nothing else. I'm gonna get back to listening to your blues harp lesson. This is such a blessing, to have someone who plays like you, Jason.

Great lesson J R .... Anyone can learn how to play a note or series of notes but the key is to be able to play them in a rhythm ..... It's just like when we talk we naturally say words in rhythms .... Playing harp is no different the key is developing rhythm .... Love this riff you play when your telling this story it sounds so delta blues something right out of little Walters riff book .....

I did a enough of that myself before i finally got it. It feels great but its even better helping out other people. Let they say got to give it away to keep it. Have a blessed day. Love you bro

This reminded me of when I did an open Miic. And this local harp player Tall Richard said to me after a set He said son you need to calm down and stay on beat and I followed his advice and it worked out allot better. Thanks Jason for reminding me of that.

Hey Jason I always play alone and end up playing every lick pretty much the same. I jumble it up and most people I don't even think notice it.But I always try and think of different notes to play but it's not easy for me. I get a lot of excellent and very eye opening things from you. Your street wise way of talking shows me that you have a ton of real life experiences to offer and lots of times i think of my own past life and ended up where i am now which is a good place.Thanks for being a special Ain't No Bullshit type of guy.

10:00 - SO GOOD!!! I love the way you changed from counting quarters to eighths to sixteenths, followed by interspersing them all with each other. I find that, when you break down rhythm to its mathematical components, it makes the often-intimidating _effect_ of the technique feel immediately more _accessible._ It inspired me to start playing Mix&Match with rhythmic fractions, and that simple exercise _immediately_ upped my game...including "letting it breath" by incorporating _rests!_ GREAT LESSON!!! I've added it to Watch Later _and_ Favorites. SO GOOD!!! 12:35 - Another option for wrong notes in a solo comes from the Miles Davis school. _Commit to it!_ Sometimes the coolest thing you can do with a wrong note is stay there, _lay on it,_ and milk it for every last ounce of uncomfortable dissonance, so when you _finally_ resolve that note (or the chord resolves to _it)_, the sense of _release_ is that much more satisfying...and the audience is _tricked_ into thinking you _meant_ to hit that note all along. 16:33 - YAY!!!!! I've missed Blues Stories. For those of us who were simply born and raised in the wrong time and place, stories like these (from someone who knew and love the people in them) are the best way for _us_ to get to know them...especially when they help to reinforce the lesson of video. I'll say it again. SO GOOD!!!

When you say you’re playing a sea harmonica customized… What does it actually mean? I have a lot of harmonicas and I play in a band and I try and play along with some professionals like yourself, and I’m wondering if I need a special tuning to get some of the notes that you guys seem to get that I can’t even find? please confirm that I am not losing my mind and that customized Harmonicas or something that I might need
@jasonricci
@jasonricci Жыл бұрын
No it's basically just a regular harmonica in the key of C that has a fancy comb and sometimes covers. Work has been done to make the reeds a bit easier to play by making them more airtight but it's essentially tuned exactly the same. More info at www.bluemoonharmonicas.com
