You missed the best location "Nandrool". Easily visible from the top of Fort. It was the mock battlefield. Kangra fort is still considered to be be the oldest fort "in the world". A famous quote about the fort " One who holds the fort, rules the hills". It is said the Prince of fort in earlier days was the richest in the world. My go to place. Absolute surreal place.

@@dopamineshorts9307 kangra fort is even mentioned in Mahabharata and Rig veda and it was considered as oldest fort by many historians. Kangra fort built by Maharaja Susharma Chandra. He fought for Kauravas in the battle of the Mahabharata. And chittorgarh fort built in 7 A.D. while kangra fort dates back to 5-6 century B.C...

I did the same trip in 2009 with my family and still have vivid memories of that trip. Palampur tea gardens and Kangra Fort mesmerized all of us. In Dharamshala we stayed in the cricket stadium hotel and that was the highlight of the entire trip.

I had visited Palampur more than 25 years ago taking the narrow gauge train from Pathankot .... that was a wonderful experience.
