EP 6 Places to visit in Tezpur, Assam | Ugroshore island, Ethnic Assamese food

What a beautiful start to the day with Rice, curd and gur. Best part of this breakfast was that it was cooked using traditional method.
Tezpur has ancient, Medieval and modern history.
Ancient history: it is believed that many many thousand years ago, Banasur fought war with Lord Krishna. In this war Lord Shiva supported Lord Krishna. We visited Agni garh and Temple remain Bamuni hills.
There are many temples of Lord Shiva in Tezpur, as Banasur was a disciple of Lord Shiva, he built these temples over the time period when he was ruling in this region.
Medieval history: We learnt about Ahom dynasty t during our visit to Sivasagar.
Modern History: During this era, there is lot of work that happened around cultural aspects of assam some of the notable writers, poets, musicians. Jyoti Prasad Agarwal was born in Tezpur. He was the first Assamese film maker.
Tezpur is home for Bishnu Rabha who was another multi talented personality. He was a Poet, Lyricist , Dramatist and a freedom fighter. Bishnu Rabha's song also has a special identity which is popular as ''Bishnu Rabha Sangeet''.
Noted personalities like Phoni Sarma & Padmanath Gohain Baruah was also from this place. Padmanath Gohain Baruah was the 1st president of Asom Sahitya Sabha.
Ugroshore: It takes about 40 minutes to travel between Ganesh ghat Tezpur to ugroshore island.

3. Chitralekha udyan: this is a popular garden in Tezpur. Art work at this garden demonstrates the mythological story of Usha and Anirudh marriage and the Mahayudh that happened between the two God’s Hari & har.

Sir what they offer you in the island is not the sunga pitha. What they cook was bora saulor jolpan. Sunga pitha can also be prepared by this method but it hardens when put in bamboo and boil them. Bora saulor jolpan is a very stronh food that it eauals to one complete thali of rice with many sabji varieties,curries etc.. this particular dish had been proposed to feed the army men in US and they made a deal to import it from Assam...... Love to see your vlogs but you skipped or may be missed many more things.... You came to lower assam, even stayed some moments in Pathsala but missed the 2nd giant tree of Asia which is just 3to4 kms away from pathsala town. You missed Barpeta the city of Satras and major hub of vaishnavism, you missed Mahamaya dham and Snanghat, the historic jamidari town Gauripur, Historic town Dhubri, greeny and magnificant Goalpara district, world famous Surjyo Mandir, Achatikandi,the hub of mritsilpa, Laokhuwa Sanctuary which is famous for golden langur, several bird and butterfly species, Jomduar, Bhutan Chowki in Baksa District, Bogamati in Baksa district. You missed the khajuraho of East, Madan Kamdev mandir in Baihata Chariali which is so near to Guwahati and comes in the root of guwahati mangaldoi tezpur root.... You need to come once more in Assam to explore it. It needs almost 2 months to explore whole Assam. Come next time ... If you need I can help you to explore the lower assam side

@@visa2explore Bora rice cannot be taken as full rice thali ,we take it as breakfast food occasionally only as it is full of enzymes than other type of rice.If excess amount is taken,it will create loose motion.

In my humble opinion, Assam seems to have a treasure trove of opportunities to grow its tourist footfalls ... but maybe is lacking in the infrastructure etc. from what I can see in the videos. There is a different species of bamboo in upper assam called as saul sunga bah. That bamboo is very soft and has a thin film inside it and when you cook rice inside it the thin bamboo film gets attached to the rice. The bamboo has a very good aroma and the aroma also gets integrated with the cooked rice. You should try that
