Definitely stain it! It’s a loud guitar and a loud color would fit it. I’m sure you’ll find the perfect shade of green for it. I’ve never been a huge fan of gradients so I’m skeptical about the black to green idea but it’s your guitar and you always deliver a fantastic end product!

Oh, and regarding the stain. Yes, it would look great with a natural finish, but green is an underused color on guitars. An option would be to stain the top, but leave the filets, sides, and back natural. I'm building a solid mahogany strat, and I left the sides natural after staining the top cherry red and the back black. The natural sides look great. You could do something similar with this one.

Love this guitar, I think the coloring should be a bright, almost fluorescent green fading from the outer edges of the maple inwards . The fade would end a few inches in, leaving the maple color in the center of the body. The same idea for the headstock. Great Job Ben as usual.

Pretty sure I have watched all the build vids. Went down a crimson rabbit hole when I discovered the channel. I can say that this build has crystallized a few design cues that are uniquely Ben. Those bevels that end at a right angle, the squared off horns, and other small details are all signature Ben Crowe design features. Not many other builders who’s designs are unique enough to really stand out and shout the name of the designer like this guitar does. Mahogany with a flamed maple top and maple neck with walnut fretboard! wish me luck, and keep making great videos!

If it were up to me I'd not stain it. This guitar's biggest strength to me is that it's got lines, edges and facets going everywhere yet despite its somewhat out there design it still has a classic elegance to it. Also from the second the edges of the body started being carved I fell in love with the contrasting colors of the woods used. So much so that the build I'm planning at the moment will likely take a decent amount of inspiration from this series. Staining the guitar, though I'm sure it'll still look great, would detract a bit from its current beauty in my humble opinion.
