rhat curved cover thar protrudes a bit would look awesome if it stays put, if you stained it either ligher or darker, signifigantly so it pops real nice from the contrast. just IMHO

Any chance at developing a version of that Archimedes drill? Good vintage ones are near impossible to come by in my country and the Amazon versions aren't very good.

It's the perfectionist in you, combined with your attention to detail and passion that result in such exemplary builds that tend to stand out from the crowd. Kudos for taking the time to do it right - even if it meant doing it twice. The applicable engineering saying would be: "Sometimes you gotta break a few eggs to make a _real_ mayonnaise". The sound samples are especially good. You can really hear how nice it sounds - even on KZbin.

You also could have used more fluid paint (probably water based) and put it on the ingraving on the headstock, then just wipe the excess away.

A 6 string guitar but in the shape of a Rickenbacker bass guitar. Without the annoying twin truss rods. Ive always loved the rick bass and wished there was a guitar version

One of your most beautiful creation, I think. A stunning finish - so clean and understated. The clear covers and neck plate work perfectly. Wow!

Next time you're handling the small rocks, clear your bench and lay down a white terry cloth first. Then when you drop them, they just.. won't bounce. Easier to see against white too.

I have a solid body 1960s Hofner colorama, that when I bought it in the 1970s, the red paint was flaked like an old barn door. currently its stored, stripped & in pieces ( with some lost). It has the heavy tremalo bridge,

Strat with Super Vee Bladerunner or Hipshot Contour, locking tuners, and a roller nut = Perfection. Float that trem with the Carl Verheyen method, and never look back. ALSO use five "Raw Vintage" springs. All the screams, warbles, vibrato and tricks as a Floyd Rose, but not enough range to snap your strings with a pull-up!

It must be so hard getting the two side dots at the 12th fret identical, how about instead having a single, larger oval-cut sapphire there instead....

Thank you for the great film Ben. I have a 2008 SBX-1 Classic in solid swamp ash. I love it. Mine is stamped NFS, not for sale. Donated by Taylor to a christian charity. In a recent podcast celebrating 50 years of Taylor, Bob Taylor and Kurt Lutzig confrimed that after initial overwhelming demand sales slowed for these electrics. The best decision for the business was to stamp remaining stock as NFS and donate them to charitites for tax write off which was more beneficial for the brand and owners than selling them at a huge loss. Such inspiring people with wholesome values and great pride in their people.

Reminds me of ripping the frets out of 2 of my newly finished guitars and redoing them because I was not happy with the fretboard radius. It has to be perfect. Period. 👍

I genuinely think that the fact that you had to do the sapphire inlays twice and they had such a steep learning curve made this build much more worth it and way more giving in the end. I am very pleased to be watching your videos again. Hope you are well🫶

Love the look! I think the flush mount will be better. With people screaming about “cut hands” when there’s a tiny lack of fret dressing, I would think markers that stand proud of the neck would cause a riot. 😂

I can't help but think how many fags you're smoking a day and how you're finding the time. I've only seen stains like that when Tobin Bell was on the X-Files as a 4 pack a day smoker.

Man o man that is beautiful wood. Ben I REALLY like the change you made to the side dots. To Me they are more aesthetically pleasing. The headstock solution works. Hmm for future headstock inlays, perhaps make a bending form and bend rectangular silver solder sticks or wire around the form. Pre-bend the wire to match a routing template of the logo for fast repeat usage? Or just use silver mica and diamond dust in epoxy, simple, but we all enjoy your complicated designs. A lot.
