Thank you! This will definitely help this season while wearing masks.

That's my hope! I've been doing this for awhile being a quiet coach, so hopefully this will help some louder coaches out there struggling to communicate with a mask (because they've always been able to use their voice)!

Love this! For blocking I typically use the cue word “PRESS”, and instead of swing I say “PULL” with a hand signal. I also think reset is valuable. Something similar to bow and arrow that I use for serving is sling shot. Thanks for this awesome video. I will tune in to more.

Wow okay so you were talking about "reset" and I had to pause to think about what I say bc apparently I do it subconsciously 😂 I say "reel it in" and the hand motion I use is both hands (open hands) making circles toward my body.... And I'm doing this softly as kind of a way of saying "it's okay... we got this... take a breath and let's go do our thing" Not a single clue why I say this. I like "reset" also

Oh I love it! Same intention, different phrase! I think a lot of us use these cue words and phrases subconsciously, but with covid (and masks) I think it'll help to be aware of what we say/how we motion it and communicate that with our teams!

The USYVL coaching handbook has a list of key words for each skill taught, and they also go over some of them in their videos. I've found them very helpful from 7-15 yrs old. www.usyvl.org/news-media/videos/

@@GetThePancake You're welcome, big fan of what you're doing (bought your first book, discuss your podcast with my daughter, used your tips when coaching), and excited that you're now in CA. I'm up in Ventura county.
