Coyotes in our area of the California Sierras can travel around 8-10 miles daily. Unless its summer and hot and then they can travel upwards of 20 miles if looking for water. Mountain lions we have noticed stay close to water. Had new neighbors who moved here from the city and started putting food out for the deer. Then one morning they were sitting eating breakfast, looked out the window and saw a mountain lion take down a doe and start eating. They had no idea what a bad idea it was to feed the deer.

Great podcast as usual. We usually did a couple of dozen ducks a year for the farm shop freezer each year. My other half worked at the local Abattoir where (if selling) we had the ducks and other meats processed.. However if we were plucking ducks for us personally we'd do them in the chicken plucker... Pro Tip the abattoir add blue dawn dish soap to the scalder water... It makes a big difference how the feathers come out. Also ducks are very time sensitive, you need to do the deed just before the pin feathers come through 😁 -there you go, I've finally been one of those commenters who say "you should have" ..... 😂

I would like to hear more about this event... I am on the West Coast so normally anything on the East Coast would be a little expensive. Anyways YES I love Indian Food!

Great getting meet and chat with yall at the event. Mike and Billy taught the skining method on most of the ducks. Mike explained to usually try and harvest ducks at 7 or 14 months as that's usually when they molt, making the plucking a little easier. Also, using wax for pin feathers. Anyway, really enjoy this podcast. Thanks for sharing.

The beauty of cooking low salt food is that people that want their food to have more salt can still add salt. If the food has the salt added to it, the people that want/need their food to be low salt can't eat it. Don't be too quick, in telling/sugesting people who want to limit their salt intake that they are wrong, they might have a reason for it. I have a serious case of Atrial fibrillation (a few days of normal heart function, followed by a few days of Atrial fibrillation) and, while I don't eat low salt, I do limit salty food because if I eat too much salt, my period of normal heart function is shorter by days and my physical abilities during the atrial fibrillation are seriously limited. Combined with the fact that my measured blood pressure after eating salty food is higher, which probably triggers my previously mentioned complaints, makes me want to keep my salt within limits. So people with heart and blood pressure problems might want/need to limit their salt intake. And yes, eating food that other people find tasty, can be too salty for me. I have a few years of experience in figuring out what triggers a reaction for my condition and what does not.

They have tire changing mounts that cost like 50-100 bucks on harbor freight or someplace similar and just anchor it in your shop or on a pallet and you can change any tire. Comes with the bead breaker attached to it and a big ass bar to get the tire off/on. One of the best tools I've purchased.

Love the podcast !...Hey Jason, I was a professional painter for over 20 years...paint doesn't stick to silicone . if you have to paint again (later) consider using paint-able caulk over the silicone. the caulk will stick to the silicone and the paint will stick to the caulk. it just takes a thin layer of caulk over the silicone. hope this will help.

Hello 👋 again guys, I had the same problem with getting lawnmower tires repaired or replaced. Most tire shops don’t have the proper liability insurance to cover any type of tire except motor vehicles. I have one independent tire repair shop that does my tires and because they will do all of my tires they get all of my tire repair, rotation, oil changes, and maintenance for the car as well. Try an independent shop for those repairs 👍💪🙌🌈✌️🐖🐷🐽

Hey Ben, after you were talking about the coyotes/wolf on your property, I googled wolves in NC. The article I read said NC has endangered red wolves, and they can be found in 5 NC counties: Beaufort, Dare, Hyde, Tyerrell, and Washington counties. Not knowing your county, that may have been a red wolf you saw. It did say those counties were in eastern NC. I've also read articles in the past that the northeastern states now have "Coywolves" where coyotes and wolves have bred together. They are slowly migrating to mid-Atlantic and southern states. So they may now be in NC as well.
