Thank you Patrick for your many wonderful sailing videos. You got me through the pandemic and when I sail my 1980 C&C 30 on Lake Ontario, I imagine myself far from land somewhere in the open Atlantic or near a remote fishing village. Every moment is an adventure for me and I have learned so much from you.

Hey, sailing on the Great Lakes is every bit as challenging as the Atlantic. I used to live near Lake Michigan and saw some ferocious storms there, and the weather can change there so quickly. Great Lake sailors have my respect! Fair winds.

Thanks. I often wondered if there was a 'preferred' way to go around (heading East or West). I'm not sure it really makes a difference. My two trips there saw slightly more wind from the West than the East, but as you know, in the fjords, the wind doesn't obey the compass. :-)

Yeah, I never mastered that lassoing thing..... This much smaller boat (29 feet vs my 40 ft Bavaria) is in theory much easier to dock, but in practice, quite challenging due to the twin rudders that are not in the prop wash.....
