That was not a documentary, it was propaganda. "7 Year Wait" is a 23 minute long video about GenG's MSI victory and the first 14 minutes of that is dedicated to why T1 didn't win. There's nothing about Peyz' 28 kill record, nothing about Canyon beyond a 4 second clip of him randomly talking about the 2021 jungle meta at Worlds. Nothing about GenG and Chovy breaking their LPL curse after so many years. Nope, LCK says GenG was simply "lucky" and that's why they won. 🤣🤣😂😂 Lastly, why did it take the LCK 3 entire weeks to release just 2 videos about GenG's MSI victory? I've never seen the LCK so openly disrespectful to another team, not even when DRX won Worlds. GENG FIGHTING 👓🏞⛪🤴🙌

Don't get all the hate and downplaying of T1. Faker's injury, the DDoS'ing and not adjusting to lane swaps but they ramped up hard and almost made Finals whereas the "SS tier" BLG with knight got hard stuck and beaten by GenG 3-1. It's also not just the LCK schedule, but T1's own schedule. Any team with T1's schedule (let alone the aforementioned issues) will not even be able to make playoffs let alone place 3rd at MSI.

These analysis talk about peak and how well GenG has done, which is amazing for the last 2 years. But the game still continues to evolve, just because a team is good doesn't mean they'll be dominant forever. Look at JDG and look at GenG (excluding this past MSI) for the past years. They were good, but not always. It'll be an amazing feat if GenG win Summer and then possibly get the Golden Road. But that shit is difficult. I don't think long term synergy is as important as the meta being perfect for you.

GenG have never looked as dominant as they do now with a roster that has only played 7 months together. And yet the LCK continues to downplay their achievements and chalk their MSI victory up to being "lucky with the meta". The LCK have posted just 2 videos about GenG winning MSI since it ended over 3 weeks ago - Moments & Memories + 7 Year Wait - each of those 2 videos has more screentime for T1 than they do GenG. The LCK is also trying *very* *hard* to ignore Peyz' 28 kill record, or that GenG and Chovy broke their curse against LPL teams. Why can't the LCK be happy for GenG and properly congratulate them? But the LCK would rather snub GenG and make excuses for T1 instead of earnestly making a video for GenG's fans. LCK staff are acting like spoiled children 🤣😂

I'd rather see T1 vs GenG early on like week 1 as a T1 fan. I feel like it dictates what we could expect for the rest of the split and since it happens on the earlier parts of the summer split, if T1 doesn't perform as well as expected then I can just cope/hope for whatever growth throughout the split

GenG won, so yeah, it doesn't really matter or dictate anything at the start lol well that's my take. Also yes ddos but this time around, they're able to practice just had to stop streaming because of the ddos :( They couldn't practice while streaming that's when the other teammates in Solo Q would get ddos but I've been watching them all in soloq doing well :D

Let's be honest guys. I guess you're not able to say it, but being ddos since after winning worlds and no practice, we weren't able to scrim. They had to read patch notes and hope for the best, yet they came second again and then third in MSI butt 5 games, and a lot of them Fakers injury is def going to flare up. Would you guys be able to play great with all that happening, yet you guys are always making excuses like the meta wasn't good for them? Well, ok, it wasn't, but why? Because they couldn't play, they didn't get their accounts which were really low mmr till play. Offs then they were able to play solo, but at a shit level, it didn't help. Also, I think if they were able to play fairly like everyone else, they would have been fine, and yes, GenG had some issues with it, but then it stopped streaming because when they streamed and practiced, the teammates were getting DDoS thankfully, Faker has finally hit master. I think they're all master now. Maybe some higher have not looked at that. It just sux how you guys just dog on them so damn much for all the shit they have been through since winning worlds and putting in so much extra hard work to get that 2nd place in spring and third place in MSI, you tell me what other team would have the guts and fortitude to do that? Anyway awesome to have you back haha :D

The LCK made the MSI celebration video "7 Year Wait" into a 'make excuses for T1 not winning' video, and you wonder why they 'dog on them so damn much'? Maybe because the LCK panders to T1 so damn much, that even in videos they post about GenG winning MSI, GenG are barely mentioned at all. Zero mention of Peyz' 28 kill record in game 2, or GenG/Chovy breaking the curse, and Canyon only has a cameo talk about 2021 worlds jungle meta?? Why can't the LCK actually congratulate GenG one time without making T1 the main characters? LCK have only posted 2 videos about GenG winning MSI in the 3 weeks since MSI ended, yet those 2 videos have more screentime devoted to T1 instead of MSI champion GenG? Can you imagine if the roles were reversed and T1 was the one being ignored as much as possible after just winning an international title? If every video by the LCK about T1 winning Worlds had more time given to GenG and why GenG didn't win instead? If the LCK itself tried to set the narrative that "T1 only won Worlds because they got lucky the meta was favorable to them"? Wouldn't T1 fans feel robbed if Guma smashed the old kill record, only for the whole thing to be completely ignored in the celebration video by the LCK, as if it never happen? Would T1 fans be OK with *ALL* of the above paragraph happening in the span of just 3 weeks? Because that's what GenG just dealt with, yet T1 are the ones to gain everyone's sympathy because LCK and Riot made an impromptu announcement about T1 being DDoS'd. And actually T1 _can_ scrim because Riot gave them super special accounts or something, T1 just can't soloQ and stream.

@@styrfry To answer the last paragraph, no T1 fan really cares about GenG. In fact, the majority of LCK viewers only watch the LCK for teams like T1 and DK. Surely this can't be news to you. T1 brings in the viewership, the money, etc. GenG only brings in a minor fraction of that and many LCK viewers don't really care to engage with content that features them. Consumers dictate what promotional materials are heavily promoted, so don't blame the LCK for doing the smart thing. When GenG improves their general marketability, brand appeal and popularity, then they'll likely be promoted heavily. Until then this is really on GenG's management. You may love the game, and it would be good to see fairness. But the average LCK viewer, and in fact the average league viewer, does not care about any of those things. Of what benefit would promoting GenG do for Riot or the LCK? JDG was an immensely popular team so when they won MSI they were heavily promoted. T1 was heavily promoted too. In fact, the reason why most past winners have been well promoted is because not only did they win championships, but they were also popular teams. GenG is probably the only major winner with only about average levels of popularity in Korea and globally. Welcome to the world of sports and business. What GenG needs right now is a star. Yes, Chovy is an exceptionally good player, one of the best. But his star power is generally lacking despite being in the game for almost 6 years now. GenG needs a Faker, Showmaker, Ruler, Knight, JackeyLove, TheShy, Caps or Deft to see themselves being favoured for promotions by the LCK or Riot. Unfortunately, this isn't a good thing for the LCK either. Unless Showmaker makes a massive career comeback soon, when Deft leaves for the military and Faker retires, the LCK is going to tank massively.
