Any specific advice for a father taking out his son for the first back country bear hunt? 12 years old, 3 successful dear hunts in the bag. This will be our first backpacking trip and first bear hunt. I'm looking forward to the adventure but recognize the difficulty in the pursuit may be too much for a 12 year old. Appreciate any advice from the audience as well. Great videos and keep up the good work. You're passion for the hunt shows in every video. Thanks

Brian, man this was great info! Very helpful - especially about spiking out. Was wondering about how these tactics may/may not change if you're going to archery hunt in the mountains. Also, do you have any advice hunting mountain black bear in the fall. Here in California, we don't get a spring bear season. ...which sucks.

Ive hunted and killed bear in Michigan and in Canada. But this is different, we are currently planning a gritty hunt. These hunts look like miserable weather and terrain, definitely need that in my life. Hard drive reset...

You said you could set up camp within a few hundred yards and never be detected.... is this because you know how the wind works on the mountains? Do you set up on the other side of a ridge? You should go into detail about this in a future video

From what I see the fans want to see the bear hunts then hear tactics. You have one job... RELEASE the video of the hunt. If we do have to wait put segments in it dinner and a movie style of cooking some bear. Or do that as an extended cut release. Maybe some bloopers at the very end. Also people are having trouble seeing old hunts. Appreciate link sent and in this video comments but can you put that Playlist as option on your KZbin video page. I use your videos to try and make converts to the spring bear faith. You should do a give away where viewer wins gear you use and hunt to go on spring bear mission with you. Keep up all the good work.

Hunting is about getting close, not shooting it at 900 yds. But if you’re a really crappy hunter or aren’t out there to enjoy the hunt, a long range gun may be the best option for you.

I have to agree. I showed up at bear camp this year with a 308. Everyone kept telling me that I needed a gun that would do 6 to 800 yards. I told them no I don’t. Just get closer. I was the only one that filled my tag. I shot it at 82 yards. 1 shot. I didn’t have to keep firing. Key words be a better hunter.
