Listening to Earl commentating has cemented him as my favorite player ever by far. Underneath all the controversies he's had throughout the years lies a humble, funny and very knowledgeable man. I was very pleasantly surprised by this. I've learned so much from his commentary and he very frequently makes me laugh. Amazing job Earl.

Oh here we go, I wait the whole week for this moment you guys posted the video. It’s to the point I set the reminder on my phone to watch Earl’s video every week. Very entertaining and fun match to watch. The match clearly shows the contrast of experienced and inexperienced players even when they both have same style of play. Soufi shoots so fast, even faster than Filler but the lack of experience slowly caught up to him and made him pay. He’s still a great player tho. And Earl, like usual, very educative video.

Earls set of commentaries will destroy years of “center ball” obsessed teaching. The man loves his “little spins”.
@pete-dog
@pete-dog 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for saying this. While I was learning, over and over they said "don't try to use english it will ruin your stroke. Then I realized EVERY shot has english. What they should have been saying is all shots have english, so pay attention to your tip placement and use the spin to help make shots.
@alucardx1234
@alucardx1234 3 жыл бұрын
It obviously depends on your level of play. Spin is also much more important in rotation games (9 & 10 ball) as you need to use the cue ball much more to get position.
@pete-dog
@pete-dog 3 жыл бұрын
@@alucardx1234 This is the mentality I'm against. English isn't just for advanced 4 rail positions....if you listen to Earl's commentary, for every cut shot he's calling tip positions. IMHO, any player is better off paying attention to how gearing between cue and object ball, tip position and amount of spin all affect the accuracy of every shot, rather than ignoring that and trying to play center ball all the time.

I have always thought someone would come up with a devise to place the balls on the table in any way you wanted with laxer lights. Programmable chip to lay out the table for practice routines or like the balls were set up in a previous Pro matches . It would be placement pool. But able to set the table up in any manner. Like when Earl won a championship in the past. Same table layout. A device that sits above any table with lights showing where the rails and pockets are,,adjust it and then pick a scenario and it shows where each ball goes,,with a laxer light. And different removable chips with different layouts. It would take someone to go program all these previous matches to show where each ball was.

So many times he says something like "now he's gonna draw back to the rail and come down... oh, nope, he's just gonna draw straight down." Earl, we just love hearing you man! You don't have to predict EVERY single shot. :)

@Al Klug I love hearing it too, but I don't think he needs to do it for EVERY single shot. He keeps tripping himself up doing that, and a lot of what we're hearing from him is him taking stabs at guessing shots, when I'm sure he has so much more and so much more interesting things to say. Listen to the one that Niels Feijen commented on. He was predicting shots and explaining them as well, but he wasn't doing it for EVERY shot and he was also giving more insight into the overall strategy of the game, the mindset of the players, and the more nuanced aspects of high level play.

I like Soufi. He's an exciting player. He made Filler look a little clumsy and tentative. Usually it's Filler who makes the other player look clumsy and tentative.

I love how this dude Soufi tried to shoot like Filler and scratched like amateur

Hey Earl, did you ever played Joshua Filler? As far as I know, you didn't. So, why don't challenge him playing 9ball? Best of 49?

Billiard Network. Please stop editing out the racking of the balls. Give Earl some time between matches to talk. Maybe explain a previous shot or maybe tell a story. Why do you rush him? Thank you.

Camaro we understand your point...he s got all the time he needs to talk while players are thinking. Adding 20 minutes to his work is just not doable considering all the factors put in. Thanks for your support.

Disagree. Glad I don’t have to see ball racking. Improvement to take that out.

@@ezekiel763 I completely agree! I don't wanna see racking if I can avoid it, and above all else, I don't wanna hear past stories! The reason why I adore Earl's commentary is because he sticks to the game play and he is all technical! If I want old stories, I just watch the usual old commentators in Mosconi, US Open etc.
