मैं oct2018 को अकेले गया था। कुछ नही पता था। कोई बुकिंग नही थी देहरादून से आगे क्या करना है कुछ पता नही था। लेकिन ऐसा लगा जैसे मा गंगा से सब कुछ इंतज़ाम कर रखा था। 1% भी परेशानी नही हुई। रास्ते मे लोग मिलते गए सब कुछ इंतज़ाम होता चला गया। गढ़वाल मंडल में जब मुझे एक बेड और रजाई मिली तो ऐसा लगा जैसे रजाई न हो कोई जीवन दायनी । बहुत अच्छा लगा ।

Maine bhi apne dosto ke sath 2010 mein Gaumukh ki yatra ki thi.. Hum subah 5:00am nikle the Gangotri se aur Sham ko 6 bje vapis aa gye the.. Hume jayda knowledge nahi thi toh ek din mein sari yatra karli, aur thak bhi gye the bohat.. Apka video banane ke liye dhanyawaad, memories refresh ho gyi .. Har Har Gange ..

Thank you Bali sir for refreshing my memories. I have done this stretch of Gangotri-Bhojbassa-Gaumukh-Taphovan. On route stayed at ashram one night. On return stayed at Guest House. Not much change to terrains. I do not remember Forest Guest house. Gangotri was almost empty that time. But can see huge rush of visitors/pilgrims.

Great video and effort Harishji. It's disheartening that you could not make it all the way to Gaumukh. In Gangotri there is a sadhu named Swami Sundaranand. He has been living there for more than 60 years. He has witnessed up close the gradual shrinking of the Gangotri glacier. He has taken more than 100,000 photos of the shrinking glacier. The sadhu is also an avid mountaineer. Over the last few years, he saw the glacier retreat more rapidly than ever before. According to him, Gaumukh was barely 1 km away from Bhojbasa, but today, it is 4 km away and that every year the glacier is retreating by at least 10 metres.

This sadhu you are talking about lives in Gangotri... i think i met him there... he is currently around 70 or 75 year old... great photographer as well..... he has worked in multiple roles in the past.....his ashram is near GMVN , are we talking about the same person

Harishji you also mentioned that there was no garbage around. Hats off to the local authorities and pilgrims for taking care of the fragile environment there. When I visited Gangotri 4 years ago I did find some heap of garbage lying near the banks of Bhagirathi on the way from parking area to the temple complex. But that was off season then and shops were closed. Maybe that was why I was able to notice the garbage lying around.

Trekking was damn difficult and you kept on vlogging throughout and that's what is the quality of a dedicated and perfect vlogger....How many times should I tell you how much I like your videos.....this one was insane....and you did that trekking is a proof enough of your stamina....and you also did trekking of yamunotri and gangotri so thats pretty cool😊

Use tablet diamox 500mg bd for acclimatization of body with high altitudes..it will prevent AMS which arise due to low oxygen level in high altitudes.. The usual recommended dose is 500 mg to 1000 mg per day in divided doses. 1000 mg is recommended in cases of rapid ascent. Preferably, treatment should be started 24-48 hours before ascent and continued for 48 hours while at high altitude, or longer as necessary to control symptoms.
