I work in the engineering department at Regal. One thing to note aside from boat building… is that this company is fabulous to work for and they really really value their employees. Been there for 3 years now.

Hey JP, Thanks so much for watching the channel and your support... we truly do appreciate it. It is great to hear that Regal is an amazing company to work for... I surmised as much as when we were at the factory, everyone seemed to really enjoy what they were doing and took pride in their jobs. Keep rocking the engineering, we enjoy the products you create.

They have had factory tours for customers and visitors in the past!
@From100to2611 ай бұрын
Yep.. you are totally correct.. but they suspended this because of Covid. They just opened up tours again (in the last two weeks). Since there has not been anyone who did a video on the factory, we wanted to bring that to everyone. Thanks so much for the support and watching the channel, it means a lot to us!

I have a 2022 38XO and did the factory tour as well. The factory customer service reps have been Fantastic to work with. I live in Florida and they have been to my dock to address punch list issues. I recently purchased Sharrow props and can’t wait to test them
@From100to2611 ай бұрын
Oh excellent! I can’t wait to hear about the performance improvements for the Sharrow props!! Keep me posted! Thanks again for your support and watching the videos!

I have a lot of experience with the Sharrow props. I worked Sharrow early on to test them on my 38XO. Once you get yours I would like to connect to discuss further.

Yes I would like to hear about your Sharrow experience. I hope to them soon. They have been telling me 2 weeks out since late October Do you use a prop lock?
@NOLAMG10 ай бұрын
I installed the Sharrow props and did a quick test run yesterday. The boat was full of fuel and water. Calm waters with light winds RPM vs MPH RPM. Stock. Sharrow 3000. 11.9. 18.1 3500. 15.3. 28 4000. 28.7. 37 Still working on motor trim. Seemed like I needed 30-40% trim. With sharrow prop

@rogerb3155 awesome! My wife and I currently own a regal 28 express and we love it. Lived on it for a summer and regularly do weekend trips. Being on lake superior a boat with no isinglass sounds nice. Enjoying the other videos on your channel too. Cheers!

Excellent video. Curious as to why you decided to go with the 38XO vrs the 42XO?
@From100to2611 ай бұрын
Hey Robert. Excellent question! There are some aspects of the 42 that we like over the 38, and there are some aspects of the 38 we like over the 42. This will be featured in an upcoming video but the short version is we like the layout of the salon and the rear cockpit area of the 38 but like the two bathroom option of the 42…. So it was kind of a toss up. We are hoping for a refresh of the 42 that might address some of these issues. Thanks so much for the support and watching the videos!

My first boat was a 94' Regal 233 Commodore purchased in 1999. Back then, it was a really good first cruiser. Then I purchased a 2000 Doral 270 SC in 2003. Great boat! Then in 2021 I purchased a 2018 Regal 28 Express meticulously cared for by the owner and selling dealership. My opinion of Regal Dealership service I have experienced has been very substandard. I know good technicians are difficult to maintain but boat owners should not have to fix problems encountered from dealerships. The cost of service and repairs to my boat recently has been less than the damage by the servicing dealership. Unacceptable!
@From100to264 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comments and support of the channel. Having purchased numerous boats new from several different manufactures, I would say it is all about the dealership you purchase from that can make or break an experience. For us we have had terrible experience with other manufactures, however our experience with Regal and our dealership AMPM Marine and been nothing short of amazing.

What manufacturers have moved overseas? I have been in the industry 23 years and can only name 3.
@From100to2611 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching the channel and your support. Good question but I think the answer is in part of your question. That said, one of the most recent is Wellcraft, now no longer a US owned company and their best selling boats the Wellcraft 335 and 435 are now made in Poland. In addition some US manufactures have outsourced major assemblies overseas and are simply assembling their boats in the US. There are also several new boat manufactures that are making a rather large splash here in the US all foreign built. The question I asked was more to give Jake the opportunity to explain Regals commitment to the Orlando area. We truly appreciate the support and thank you for the question.
@jacktyler759911 ай бұрын
@@From100to26 Good answer. Wellcraft moving some production to Poland has been the boat manufacturing story in Europe over the last two decades. Many of the new premium stepped hulled 'adventure boats' are now built there, as are some of the French Beneteau & Jeanneau boats, power & sail. For the U.S. builders, it's potentially a cost savings to build in Poland but a cost penalty to then ship them back to the U.S. It will be interesting to watch Wellcraft's experience.
@From100to2611 ай бұрын
@@jacktyler7599 I would expect Wellcarft to move all of their production to Poland since they are now owned by Beneteau.... or the other rumor I heard is they might phase out all the smaller boat production and only focus on the 335/435 since those boats are their best selling boats now.

Btw 95 % of boat manufacturers do gelcoat the same way. Very little paint
@davidhashimoto6653 ай бұрын
I gotta say, seems like you misunderstand what fibreglass is. The fibres are made from glass, the glass is not the resin.
@From100to263 ай бұрын
Hey David, thanks so much for your support! I am sorry if I misspoke during the video or I seemed to indicated that the resign was the glass.
@jacktyler759911 ай бұрын
Please be careful, excitement about your new Regal aside, not to drink the Koolaide. E.g. a color-impregnated gelcoat surface may be thicker than paint, but the LPU paints hold their color better than gelcoat, fading more slowly. And good for you to mention vacuum bagging. GRP boats not built with these new techniques are mirroring boats built in the 1950's.

Thanks again for your comments and opinions. I share a slightly different opinion having extensive experience in the aviation paint business and having owned Regals in the past as well as boats that have been painted. Our most recent one being Bravo our 100 foot Expedition vessel which was painted with single stage, 5 coats of top coat and 2 coats of primer.
