I hate to be that person as I’m sure you’re well intentioned, but if you’re referring to them being a lesbian couple; it’s not a ‘lifestyle’, as that implies it’s an option they’ve chosen and it’s for reasons within their control. Which being born queer is not. And honestly, it shouldn’t be an option to ‘agree’ with the existence of LGBTQ+ people or not. People do not choose to be gay, they never have done, and therefore as an LGBTQ+ person, I think to ‘respect’ me (and couples like L+O) is to do more than just ignore my sexuality because they ‘don’t agree’ with it. Respecting LGBTQ+ people comes with acknowledging their valid existence, and being an ally, especially in a world where so many people still see it as unnatural, ‘sinful’ etc. Which is just unarguably wrong, and a hateful and damaging stance. Hope this makes sense, this isn’t entirely aimed at you but it upsets me when people use slightly harmful language as it’s small steps to making queer people feel fully accepted within society.
