Thank you :) the build is still continuing, even though the films have stopped due to the new arrival :) Something had to give. Yes, we have carefully planned the interior to make sure that we prioritise the things that are important to each of us. Thankfully we lived in a Renault Trafic for a year, so it gave some good insight into that. Best wishes, Kristina

What a surprise!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Some things can't be build, must be created. Awesome for you. Now the real adventure begins. Besides, now you learn to think "in weeks and ounces". How do you call to "the urge to eat weird things" during pregnancy?
@victorsvanventures67532 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! Yes, so excited about this adventure, we cannot wait to become parents and take our little explorer on the adventures around the world! Absolutely! Never understood the counting by weeks...now I get it. Months are too confusing when it comes to pregnancy :D It is called 'cravings' but haven't really had any yet...more of a 'not interested in food too much' kind of feeling... But it's all good :) baby is growing well and that's what's the most important!

We have worked really hard to get to this point and there is so much more work to be done, but we are having fun throughout the process too :) I think we got a bit stressed out during the first build so we are learning from our lessons and so far doing a much better job :) James is working very hard at work and then in the garage afterwards while I'm growing the baby and trying to be as helpful as I can be! Thank you for your best wishes and sending them back at you :)

Awesome! On so many levels! What box manufacturer did you use, and if I may venture a question; what did just the box cost? I'm looking at doing something similar on like a 4x4 Sprinter (or, should I be able to ever find one, a 4x4 Daily) and Lithuania is just a ferry ride away from Helsinki.
@victorsvanventures67532 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you very much! :) We used the company called PaneelTec in Germany (highly recommend it, very well run family business). We paid them just under 10 000 euros. Around half of that was for the panels and the other half consisted of gluing the box together and attaching to the Unimog (we considered doing this ourselves, but when we received the quote from them it turned out cheaper than for us to take time off work, source help and facility to do it in, plus they have the experience), aluminium shims under the box, angle pieces inside the box, labour for putting inside and outside angles on, cutting the door hole and glue. The company does boxes for all kinds of vehicles and a 4x4 Sprinter with a box on it sounds like a great idea ;) best of luck and let us know if you have any other questions.
@ihmesekoilua2 жыл бұрын
@@victorsvanventures6753 Cool, thanks for the answer! That's not a bad price point to be at, considering you can get something half the size for twice the cost at a lot of places :)
@victorsvanventures67532 жыл бұрын
@@ihmesekoilua Absolutely, the quotes I got from other companies were well beyond our budget. I think 5000eur for the panels is a really good price. Especially if you had the facility, people to help you out and confidence to glue it all yourself. This is what a Norwegian couple (Unimog Overland on Instagram) did, in fact I think I found PaneelTec through their blog. Have a look on their blog, it has some information on the hab box as well :)

Just watched the build series - great stuff. Hope parenthood is going well, and plans are ticking over in the background. Have subscribed for when you, now as a three, get back on the road/do the internal fit out. You may want to invert the order of the build playlist - its finish to start rather than start to finish. Congrats! What a great news! If you need any tips about traveling with a baby in an Unimog 1300L let me know. But it looks like you put the original bench back. This is I think the best solution. We changed to single seats before we knew we where getting an extra family member. Now the wife doesn't wanna give up her bouncing seat anymore ;-). For the baby period I build something over the shifter (see Victor Barts video at kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqjVXquBjqmVY5I ). Now I'm looking for a way to add another small seat with ISOfix for the babyseat. But most important, enjoy your little miracle!

@@jamesredgrove6141 we’re good! We just pulled the unimog into the shop for a bunch of maintenance items. We are changing all the fluids. Also changing the front shocks, new air compressor, new 4x4 actuator, new drag link bar. And I’m sure there is a few more things. While we were doing the portal axel one of the drain plugs broke. Had to get replacements, also one of the brake lines was corroded to the point on leaking. Ordered all new brake lines and we’re going to swap those out so we don’t have that issue in the future!

@@RoamOverlandVehicles nice one! That all sounds familiar, I've got a bit of air in my clutch atm but am leaving that (and a full fuild and filter change) until it warms up a bit. We've got snow due on Wednesday and nowhere big enough to get the Mog indoors 😅 I'm quite happy working away in my workshop with the heater on 😁👍🏻 Are you changing your compressor with a standard one? Mine seems to be performing fine but I am thinking to fit an additional electric 24V compressor into the system for either bringing the air system up to pressure or gasing up the tires with out starting the engine... Good luck with your work 👍🏻
