When annealing, use a black magic marker. Mark the piece, start heating, when the black marker disappears, it is done.

Hi. Very beautiful ring. I so love native symbols and their meanings and always have since childhood when i started to understand anything. I have a confession. Sometimes when using a very small stone, i use superglue and i´m not proud of it.

Nice job keep the hits coming. I anneal until i see a light pink or dull red ya might say. I spray with a self pickling flux after a light heating with the torch (5 sec) and Boom no more fire scale or copper color. 🎉 😊

In class, they taught us to use sharpie marker and then anneal until the marker fades. I heard later that, that wasn't reliable so nowadays I just anneal hot and fast until cherry red. I think the trick is fast heat and not linger.

@eloyanzaldua7433 acid powder mixed with water. Its a mild nitric acid i believe. I order it from rio. I can look and see whats its called.
