LOVE this video. I have the same bike (XL700V) only the 2010 model. I feel it is indestructible, and your video tells me that is close to true! And the Transalp is A LOT of bike for the money. I Wonder, if you could have chosen (spending more) would you rather have gone on the road with a Africa Twin (from about the same year) ? I would love to have an AT, but I can't afford it. So my TransAlp will continue to be my bike. ps saw the Swedish flag on your bike, I'm in Stockholm, would have loved to have met you and heard some travel stories!

ridegaia você usa óleo 10w40 ? ou somente o 10w30? Teria algum problema eu usar um oleo mais viscoso na Transalp 700cc ? aqui no Brasil as temperaturas chegam a mais de 40° Celsius.

Já que ele não respondeu, no manual de serviço da Transalp, ela diz que pode usar as duas viscosidades, as fabricantes sempre preferem a menor viscosidade por questões de emissão e consumo, porém lá no manual ela também diz que em temperaturas ambientes maiores deve-se utilizar o 10W-40

So the engine problem you were having when the other guy said it might cost you €2000 for a engine rebuild was actually just a cylinder value that needed adjusting ?

No it was the tensioner of the rear cylindrer. We just pressed it and reset it. The chain was too tensioned. The valves don't sound like that. They sound like something is clicking.

@@ridegaia Hello. I have same bike and I have weird noise in rear cylinder after revving it. Do you have on your video what is the noise when chain is not tensioned? I suspect its the same issue you had. Btw I enjoyed this video.

​@@liniuxs I don't have a video with the noise. My chain was over tensioned. at 3000 rpm the noise was like a whistling noise. If your chain tensioner is loose it will be like a rattling noise. How many thousand KMs you have on the bike?

It sounds like a loose chain to me.... But I am not a mechanic. Definitely you need to check that

They didn't charge me for anything. That's the point of that workshop. They like what I do so they allow me to use their garage and they show me how to fix things for free

I am driving this bike in Cyprus for years. 9/12 months are more than 30 degrees with June July and August reaching 45 degrees. No problems so far

Not much. About 400 euro if I can remember. And most of that were parts since the owner of the shop is a friend and let me use his shop and tools for free

​@@transalp7008 Você quer dizer o alternador ... a coisa com os fios de cobre que gera o poder ... Meu alternador ainda é o original. Ainda está funcionando 80%, então não vou mudar ainda. O problema para mim é o retificador regulador.

Αυτο το μοντέλο εχει μονο 2 μπουζι; Γιατί το 6,5 ειχε 4 (2 ανα κύλινδρο) κ έπρεπε για να αλλαξεις μπουζι να αποσυναρμολογησεις πολλα πράγματα.

Ανόρθωσης ήταν τελικά και ο άλλος μου είπε ότι άλλαξε πηνία. Αλλά δεν έκανε το. Έκοψε την πλεξούδα του ανορθωτη και τα ξανασυνδεσε αφήνοντας μου τον παλιό πάνω

To 650 έχει καλύτερη χωμάτινη αίσθηση λόγω του μπροστινού τροχού αλλά είναι καρπυρατερ. Το 700 είναι πιο καλό σε καθημερινές δραστηριότητες, είναι ψεκασμός άρα και πιο οικονομικό.

I've found with old cars and bikes that you spend £300 on a service, then the clutch goes, then it develops a radiator leak, then.. before you know it a grand's gone.
