loved your reaction to this, coming from your Vildhjarta reaction and knew that you would have a great taste in music and love how you connected with this EP, this band has started to get a nice little following after this EP dropped and man do they deserve it they are CRIMINALLY underrated, when i first heard the song Listening it brought me to tears with that ending something about those chords just really resonate with me and i instantly had to learn the song on the guitar as its just so beautiful and think youd also really enjoy their last full LP!! a request for you sometime in the future would be Jakub Zytecki's album that came out this year titled Remind Me. It is easily one of the most beautiful works of art ive ever heard in my life, dude is a guitar virtuoso but his dynamics and melody choices and the way he voices his chords is truly mind blowing and i think you would be stunned with how amazing it is plus he has an amazing voice. the only way i could describe it is floating on clouds the atmosphere is next level, definitely in my top albums to come out this year

@@coreyclip1 Thank you so much!! Both of those bands are just stunning - VOLA are a progressive metal/djent band that blend heavy crushing riffs with pure beauty better than anyone I’ve ever heard. They creative insane atmosphere and they have huge open choruses and catchy melodies while still sounding passionate emotional. Similar to karmanjakah they throw in the djent and thall sections but have 99% clean vocals. My personal favorite album is Applause Of a Distant Crowd, it’s a bit less heavy than the other albums but it’s absolutely magical and uplifting all the way through. The fan favorite is their 2021 Album the Witness, but they have seriously never released a bad song and seeing you check out anything by them would make my day :) if you want a good intro to their sound, their new single Paper Wolf is a perfect blend of elements from all of their albums and EPS ❤️🙏 As for Agent Fresco, they have one of the most unique sounds I’ve ever heard. I don’t want to say too much but their album Destrier is probably my favorite album of all time. Their singer Arnor Dan has one of the most stunning and heartfelt voices you will ever hear, and their unique song structure and tones are just mind blowing. That album in particular would be awesome to see you react to and break down because there are so many cool piano lines and melodies that open up the album. Destrier is just musical excellence to me, there’s a perfect blend of melodies, riffs, empty space and that’s all I’m willing to say for now :) I highly highly recommend trying that album at some point ❤️ their first album is INCREDIBLE as well, so anything works here too 🤟 I hope you don’t mind the mini sales pitch :)

This EP is a good one for sure, definitely been listening to it often since it came out. My current playlist has like almost 190 hours of music and like 2200 songs of just progressive metal from ~2010 onwards for the most part, so there's a lot I could recommend to ya since you enjoyed Vildhjarta so much (I have been listening to nearly nothing but Vildhjarta since the first single that came out a month or so ago). However I'll just stick to my top 5 bands as recommendations, you can also always check out what I have in my playlist if you want to skim through it if you're interested, it's linked on my channel. So, my top 5 bands in no particular order I would recommend your way. Kadinja, Slice the Cake, The Contortionist, Corelia, The Human Abstract.
@coreyclip1 Жыл бұрын
Nice! Give me the best album from each of those top 5 and I'll try to react to them
@Panda_SMM Жыл бұрын
@@coreyclip1 Absolutely dude! Kadinja - Super 90'. This band has 3 albums, one of which being a cover album which is pretty unique for the genre from what I have seen. They are compared to Periphery a lot but I think they definitely have their own specific nuances to them by comparison, even if they are similar in some ways. Their vocalist shows up in other work like in The Dali Thundering Concept, which I believe you mentioned in this video that you're also a fan of. Slice the Cake - Odyssey to The West. They released a remix/remaster of this album in 2023 with the band stating: "We consider this the definitive version of Odyssey, with increased dynamic range and a clarity unheard in the original mix. All while retaining the feel of the original version." This album is in my top 5 albums of all time for sure, truly brilliant stuff. The Contortionist - Language. I think most people fluent in the genre recognizes how much this album has done. However, if you haven't listened to it already, enjoy it. I would give a lot to listen to this album for the first time again. This band is also due for new music sometime, and I need it asap. Corelia - New Wilderness. There is way too much backstory I can say about this band, but I will try and sum it up. This band made an EP in 2011, even had Spencer from Periphery doing some vocals in one of the songs which is cool. They were on the way to release a 90 minute full-length in 2015 but it never ended up happening due to mental health struggles within the band which is really sad. However, they released the "demo" version of the album in May of 2020. The community used AI to remaster the album as best as they could, and the band said that the Justin Rucker remastered version is now the definitive version. There is even a song that has some saxophone in it, imagine if it came out in 2015, would have been before Rivers of Nihil helped popularize saxophone in progressive metal with their 2018 record, would have blown people away. New Wilderness It's on bandcamp and youtube I believe, but not spotify unfortunately. This is also my favorite album, even with all of its flaws being rough around the edges. The Human Abstract - Digital Veil. This album is like a masterclass in composition for sure, applying classical structures to progressive metal in a seamless way, so much tension and release scattered throughout it. It's absolutely absurd that this came out in 2011, nothing quite sounds like them.
